She Is Evil

Just in case you were in doubt about Sarah Palin, from Time:

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving “full support” to the mayor.

Before, hating her was sport but now, it’s personal.

In other Palin news, because I’ve been pickled in Palin news all weekend, here are Republicans pre-dismissing Palin mere hours before they embraced her. It’s also noteworthy because Pat Buchanan doesn’t know the difference between 1966 and 2006.

Also, Palin is on the record as being “pleased with Obama’s energy plan.” What a maverick!

"Less than a week ago most Americans didn’t have a clue who Sarah Palin is, but now 30% of them would rather meet her than Barack Obama or John McCain. "

Assuming there's any truth to such a "poll", it's because Palin has that Walking-Jerry-Springer-Show, Drive-Slowly-by-a-Car-Wreck-kind of appeal.

Still, more Americans (43%) would rather meet Obama than the 44-year-old Alaska governor and mother of five who McCain picked as his running mate on Friday, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

This banning books business makes me very very angry too. Can you imagine - a book-banning petty power-tripper becomes Vice President of the U.S.A?!?

I'm sure she wanted to ban some sex ed book, if this is true and not a rumor.

The way Palin went around firing people tells you a lot about how she operates. Who are her political allies, anyway? It sounds like her own party couldn't work with her in Alaska.

Ban books you don't like. Fire people you can't dominate. Ignore politicians who won't bend to your will. Meanwhile, give the press a field day with one family drama after another.

Worst. Politician. Ever.

What a fantastic set of clips for the democratic machine to repurpose. It's not an attack ad if Pat Buchanan says it.

That clip was in the comments sometime this weekend and I thought it was awesome. Crazy that they didn't think about the possibility that she could be the one picked. It's like how you don't insult the ex-significant other of a friend until you're sure they're not going to get back together....

They just keep adding cars to the impending Palin train wreck...

I agree with Elenchos. Worst politician ever.

Sarah Palin is a bag of trash; she didn't even get to the office she holds on her own merits, but rather the criminal taint of the loser she replaced. Every ten minutes a new horror story comes out. My favorite is the one where the "fiscal conservative" raised taxes by 33% in just a few years in her small town, and spending by 38%, and left the town with a $12 million debt where none had existed before. She's doing exactly the same thing to Alaska now; pissing away assets, borrowing heavily to do the stuff that's necessary. The reason her approval rating is so high is because she's been mailing out checks to everybody.

Sarah Palin is PIG IGNORANT. She's intolerant, narrow-minded, blockheaded, torpid, dense, dishonest and foul. She's stuck in high school, giggling at her opponents, lying casually about things that are easy to look up. She's perfect for John McCain.

I'll bet his campaign staff can just start saying "Pawlenty, Pawlenty", and McCain will just forget that he even picked her. He barely knows where he is most of the time anyways.

@1 - I'd like to meet Hitler or Pol Pot, but I sure as fuck wouldn't vote for them.

Fnarf, everything you just said about Palin makes her sound like an average Republican politician. Book banning is also a favorite conservative pastime so that should get her lots of support.

Can't wait to see Sarah Palin admitting that she secretly likes to sit on cakes and fart

It almost seems impossible that the right wing attack machine that ground John Kerry into hamburger even existed given the state of the GOP today. THIS is the best the Machiavelli's of Mayberry can come up with?

I would say the obvious--but I don't want to jinx it.

Obviously, McCain had good reason to turn to the less well known, up and coming future leaders of the Republican Party. The old hands you would normally pick are all too corrupt and too responsible for driving the country into a ditch.

But what kind of second-rate toadies and sleazy ratfuckers are left in the party after eight years of Republican-made disaster? In many ways, Palin is the best they had.

SeMe, Palin makes Dick Cheney look like Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill rolled into one.

She was against everything before she was for it.

Just like McSame.

It's the Double Bill of Flip-Floppers, the Candidacy of Incompetence, the Fraud and Deceit ticket.

What's wrong with banning books?

It gave us a cool movie, "Fahrenheit 451" with a kickass Bernard Herrmann score!

I've been trying to be evenhanded about Sarah Palin despite disagreeing with her on almost everything but...the Books! She went after the Books! I can't breeeeaaatthhh.
