It took this long for video from the 1984 Miss Alaska Pageant to surface? Or did I miss it earlier? In any case, here it is, via Sullivan (and with a 50-second intro by some guy in Juneau who apparently keeps VHS tapes of such things). I'd like to skip the obvious technical possibilities here and go straight and headlong into a conspiracy theory.
The Obama/Biden smear monster has already moved to block the viewing of this. The fear is that, once the American people see Palin in a swimsuit, the race is over.

can anyone explain to me in simple terms why we keep hearing that Palin is considered attractive or sexy? i just haven't seen it, not with my own eyes. not in 1984 (not one bit) and certainly not now today.
not that's even worthy of note (at all) next to her repugnant policies and views, mind you. i just don't understand why so many news stories seem to insinuate that.. are there actually people out there who find her attractive?

A lot of women do these things for scholarships or for publicity/career advancement. I have lots of reasons to not respect her; the fact that she paraded around in a swimsuit doesn't even hit the radar.

Typical, standard caucasian female FLAT AS A BOARD ASS. Yuck. When I bend a lady over, I'd like for there to be some nice meaty buns there, otherwise what's the point. But she definitely makes a better model than she would a candidate for national office. WF Buckley would never have approved of her. For VP that is.
