More sports pandering to Penn by the McCain-Palin ticket, McCain did that same bullshit, changing his story about naming Packers linemen while a prisoner, to Steelers linemen when he is in Pennsylvania.

Oh please. If the Seahawks were SO great, they would have been better yesterday! That was SO two years ago- GET over it!
Yesterday- Steelers won!
Seahawks lost!
No ref. to blame it on, folks, they're just a better team!

Here's You Tube about McCain's Steelers lie:

Here's the original lie:

These things will not play out well in the Steel City. You may be able to lie about a bridge from nowhere, but you don't mess with the "Stillers".

Listen, I know math is hard, but the Steelers won by 11 points, not 7. Care to discuss that one time when Willie Parker smoked your entire D line? Or that neat little gadget play that completely caught them off guard?

It's been 2 1/2 years. You lost to the better team. Get over it.

I think this has more to do with the fact that PA is a big swing state. WA not so much...

As a Browns fan - and a Hawks fan - that's an extra nail in the coffin.

It was nailed shut long ago, but now that the hockey mom has come out as a Steeler fan, well...words cannot express my deep disgust!

Jonah --

If you'd 'Shopped in a tear on the Seahawk's eye you'd have had Slog gold. As it is, she's still a panderer. Can they revoke her membership?

Aren't all fans of big time sports outright begging to be dicked around? Well?

Pandering like that doesn't work in Pennsy. Rendell has been elected Gov. twice and he's a dyed in the wool Eagles fan not one of those govs who switches hats when it's politically expedient depending on where he is in the state.

Go Birds! Cowboys suck!

Getting caught lying about something trivial but emotionally resonant like which football team you support might actually gain some traction with independent voters. Someone needs to call her out on it. Since you'll never get a chance to ask her a question, an ad featuring "she even lied about what football team she roots for" might be a game-breaking play.

We won't support spine-less NO-Bama and will re-defeat him in November !! Go Hillary 2012 !!

@18 - yeah, but you're talking about the eastern part of the state. Western PA, especially southwestern PA, is a whole 'nother ballgame (so to speak). There are some Steeler fans there who are rabid enough and shallow enough that, if they were undecided, her declaration could be enough to sway their vote. I'm not proud of that fact about my hometown, but I have to acknowledge it.

The only place I've seen more mindless, rabid fans are in the states that have SEC college football teams. When I was in Alabama working during Gustav, I saw two people at a gas station almost come to blows because one was wearing Auburn gear in Alabama territory. In Baton Rouge, people start tailgating on Thursday for a Saturday night game. During the second week following Gustav, people were more concerned about whether the North Texas game would have to be played in Texas than they were about when schools would reopen, and a bunch of students and other random people volunteered entire days to clean up around Tiger Stadium so it could be played in BR.

It's a sickness, really.
