I guess House Republicans still care about financial solvency.

It's like hating your neighbor of different opinions for waiting so long to tidy-up their lawn, and then when they do, hating them still for not having your opinions!

I think it's a bit different than your analogy DSR.

It's more like hating the guys who blindly followed the man who set fire to your lawn, killed your dog, and slept with your wife. Then, after it is far too late to take back all those crimes, they stop following him and think that absolves them of guilt for being a part of the problem. Just because they aren't defending the guy anymore doesn't excuse them for either being spineless douchebags or opportunistic shitheads for following him while he was doing all those horrible things to you.

It doesn't mean you should suddenly forgive them. They are still guilty for letting the asshole run loose.

The Republican alternatives could make it harder for Democratic leaders to usher a package through the House.

Be careful what you wish for.

It's not a true revolt until the torches and pitchforks come out.

Wrong Dan,

They're "rising up" so they can try to be re-elected by saying they were against the Bush administration. They also presented a ridiculous bailout proposal so that the Democrats would revise it and bring it to the Hill, so they could vote against it and claim to be fiscal conservatives.

You're being played. You must be a Democrat :)

And the sad part is that this transparent ploy will probably block real solutions AND get some of the Republicans re-elected in November.

Herd those Dems! Push them into another stupid move so they take part of the blame.

Neocons have shown themselves to be a complete fucking failure, so the still-needing-votes GOP are going paleo.
