Worth. Your. Time.

“This is the single most amazingly choreographed video of a Christan synth-pop boogie down bunch on YouTube I’ve ever seen,” says Slog tipper Kid Icarus. “Try not to lose it around the 1:54 mark.”

I tried, I failed.

Ah, my favorite dance move: the Almost-Moonwalk. Check out the keyboarder gettin' down in the back. He's awesome.

the first thoughts in my head were:

1. i'm sure they're not pentecostal b/c they're against dancing.
2. the guy has to be gay or str8 and fucking one the blond singer. christian scandal waiting to happen.

Wow. But WTF are they saying? Despite the infinite repetition, it was still hard to understand. Maybe I need a Christian - Heathen dictionary.

I would protest if I was the drummer-where's his inspirational signage? Two keyboards...that is just freaky and well, wrong

If the power of christ can get me to do a faux moon walk, I think I finally found Jesus.

I can learn to break it down like a used crucifix!

I posted this on my MySpace last week, it's great.

However, I'll take your pop-n'-lockin' Christians and raise you early '80s thirty-something bland Christian fake ska called Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine.

I dare you to watch the whole thing.

My dream would be to get the groups in both videos together on one stage at one time.

@2, I was raised Assembly of God (just like Sarah!), and dancing horribly is most definitely allowed, as long as it is for the GLORY OF GOD.

I was part of a youth group that "acted-out" songs from the "hip" Christian artists of the day, like Carmen and Steven Curtis Chapman (DC Talk and Stryper were considered too radical in my neck of the woods). I can't watch "Jesus Camp" because I get fucking flashbacks.

As far as the pentacostals go, dancing is fantastic, as long as it couldn't possibly give anyone a boner and it makes teh kids think Jesus is cool! After all, a couple of pasty white people doing interpretative dance to "Our God is an Awesome God" will TOTALLY lead someone to Christ.

The one thing that takes away the residual shame for me? I now make my living writing cock jokes. And I send part of that money to the Democratic party.

Way to go, Jesus.

"The renewed light is the key to Christ in me?"

Dirty.

The guy was kind of hot, though he looked like he escaped from his seedy lounge in Vegas to make the gig.

What the fuck is the key to the power that we need? What is that word they keep saying over and over again? The remoulade?

@9 Oh my shit. That's hysterical. The world can end now. I am happy. Sonseed!

1:44

Once I tried to run,
I tried to run and hide.
But Jesus came and found me,
and He touched me deep inside.
He is like a mountie,
He always gets his man.
And He'll zap you any way he can.

Holy shit, that is what this is Holy Sit. I love how they say Jesus' gives them their rights. I always thought our rights were innate and exist simply by the nature of our being human. And that the constitution protected those rights.

But then in a theocracy what God giveth he taketh away....

Posted by Andrew | September 23, 2008 2:24 PM

and in some other world rights are neither innate nor god given; they are allowed by society.

Favorite things about this are (1) the woman on the right looks like she's 40 and (2) the demure outfits of the women. They glory the Lord with their chastity!

I, too, am curious about the lyrics. They say something in there at about 1:00 about standing up for our legal rights... What's that all about?

I watched it without sound. I think it's better that way.

Why does only the guy in the middle get a headset? Is it too difficult for him to hold a microphone whilst breaking it down for the Lord?

Combining Christian music and synth-pop is something I'd expect from the CIA to get information from some Talabin terrorist.

All rock music is based on pagan African music. This group performs rock music and therefore pagan. These "Christians" are then blasphemers as they have performed pagan music as Christian music. They shall burn in hell for eternity as blaspheming God is the unforgivable sin. End of story...weird ass dancing or not.

The synth player who's doing the bass part is way out of rhythm. I mean, listen to the first and second verses. He can't bring the funk. Thus he is a good Christian.
