Man, that is really good. I wish they could somehow rig it so the debate itself ran like that.

Just titanic. McCain's blinky smile and downward look just looks deferent. Also: Obama is 100% right, which helps.

You know, I remembered Dick Cheney being the one who mostly said we knew where the weapons were. And Dubya. But not McCain. He said we would find them, not that we knew where they were. So I was right.

So the difference is that McCain thought we'd need to look a bit, while Cheney said we'd just drive right to the spot on the map with an X.

Take that, Obama. Or something.

If the Obama campaign wanted to rework this into a commercial, I am sure they'd have Jed Lewison's blessing. This is about as to the point as it can get as to why one should vote for Obama and not McCain.

It's OK, but I just wish they would debate Nader.

Thank you Dan Savage. I don't feel nearly as angry and murderous as I did this morning.

I don't understand why they don't run this as a commercial - it would seal the election for Obama. Nothing more powerful then using someone's own words against them. I thought the dems could have done the exact same thing in 04 with Bush/Cheney talking about what a cakewalk Iraq would be and ending with the "Mission Accomplished" shot. But no, Kerrey had to take the high road and here we are.

Not impressed, because McCain wasn't close to being the only one to support going to Iraq, which included plenty of dems. It's easy for Obama to point to that when he didn't even have a vote in the matter.

Hooray for Jed Lewison doing all the work to put this together. Why this campaign isn't over yet is a tribute to yokelism and ignorance everywhere. [disclaimer: I worked with Jed for years on non-political business]

What we are up against, for those who haven't read it:

@9 - To recap :

Obama and McCain are running for president - not some "other dems", or some "other repubs" who also supported the war.

Just wanted to clear that up for your ignorant, unimpressed ass.

They can't run it as a commercial because the litany of errors made by McCain would be a half hour long. I still say label the MF as the most expensive Senator in American history.

Great clip.

Yes it should be a commercial. There is this conntinual reluctance to fight and lay it all out there, even when our side has got the goods.

I can't believe I waited up to watch the opening sketch of SNL last night. I didn't find it funny - it suffered from the "Uncanny Valley" - too close to reality. Much of teh actual skit were her verbatim answers.

Much better was Obama on Face the Nation today. Bob Schaffer tried several times to get him to comment on Palin and he refused to say anything good/bad about her. Just kept saying he was running against McCain etc. I think this is a preview of the VP debate. Obama stated that their sole focus is on what they are going to do in the future and that they are not going to waste any time talking about the other team.

So McCain and Dan Savage were in agreement in 2003? Fuck you Dan, and fuck all the people who thought it was a good idea back then.

so Clintonsarmy...you'll vote for McCain and Palin because Palin has 2X chromosones? I guess Clinton's politics don't really matter just her reproductive equipment? Or is it because Obama has more melanin than your candidate and you just can't bring yourself to trust a blackman? Either way you're wrong
