Books Reading Tonight

onStay home tonight. Seriously, stay home.
Up at Third Place Books, Cricket McRae reads from her new book, Heaven Preserve Us, which is a mystery about canning and pickling. Apparently, someone dies of botulism and it may have been intentional. I’m sure there’s a Murder She Wrote marathon on tonight somewhere, and that’s probably more interesting than this book.
And then at Elliott Bay Book Company, Cal Kinnear, who works at something called Washington Lawyers for the Arts, reads from his new book of poetry. Here is what Elliott Bay’s website says about the book:
A Walk in Bardo, named for the Tibetan Buddhist liminal space between lives, refers to journeys both inward and outward, obsessions, dreams and with ‘the communal fantasies of the commons’ psyche.
What the fuck?
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

I'm pretty sure "the communal fantasies of the commons' psyche" means in the butt.
WLA is great, they do cool courses on stuff like IP, in how to rip off the music artists of third world countries and get their cash, you should totally support them ...
(grin)
no, seriously, they're ok ... for lawyers.
My commons psyche rarely wanders over to the butt, unless it's at a Sir Mix-a-Lot concert.
I hate when people give me food they've canned themselves because I live in fear of botulism. (Lest you think I worry over nothing, my ex-sister-in-law created a lovely batch of canned botulism that was luckily discovered before anyone at their county fair had actually sampled the goods.)
Botulism. Fear. Ex-Sister-In-Law.
Slog either ate my last post or will double post me. The SQL code it showed me when it barfed gave me PTSD.
@1: Does this have any connection to your writing final?
I'll just go out for drinks. I can stay home every other night of the week :P
(Apparently, Slog is messing with everybody the last couple days. It's been ignoring comments I posted, and I see that Constant posted something 4 times... probably 4 attempts to post something and it seemed it didn't take.)
I'm guessing it has more to do with the review of Burning Man in today's Wall Street Journal, Greg.
I'm grounded, I have fucking to stay home.
thanks
