And that, ECB, is the real reason McCain is doing this debate shuffling and campaign suspending. He'll do what it takes to keep her from speaking extemporaneously anywhere near a microphone. Like Sullivan says—Palin is like Ricky Gervais sketch. You squirm, you wince, and you keep watching....

I didn't see a link on Slog to Sullivan's post about Howard Kurtz in WaPo publicly smearing him for simply asking for a confirmation on the record that Trig is Sarah Palin's biological son. The McCain campaign forwarded private e-mails from Sullivan that WaPo printed.

Apropos of #1, apparently the "Trig is Bristol's kid" rumor has been circulating in Alaska for months. So much for the evil liberals and their rumor mill.

The other beauty of the Kurtz piece is that the McCain campaign source who sent him the e-mails said that Palin shouldn't have to disclose medical records b/c she doesn't have a history of health problems. Obviously a journalist would have asked for McCain's medical records in response to that whopper from the campaign, but I don't think it crossed the mind of a guy who's arguing that it's not fair 'at this stage of the game' to be asking about Trig. Fucking hack. WaPo can't stop embarassing itself.
