interesting that (at 1) his "soft landing" location isn't included in eli's post. Postman's going to Vulcan. His blog headline: "Another One Bites the Dust." Yeah, the Paul Allen assdust. Thanks Postman for always calling it like it is. Good luck doing so with your new boss.

up the ladder of Seattle dreams
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - more

tons more for the same hours, how rational is that, bigger house, new car, more babies

I found his style flat and most of his info too general and already reported - ho hum - must have bought a lot of drinks for his pals

Westerneat saw the light, as in, the exurbian rng surrounding Seattle is going Republican and Postman decided to hightail it to more Lib climates.

The fulcrum of my life is leaving. Oh no. Whatever will I do? All of those memories of not reading anything he's written are fading away. Gone. Lost forever. I don't know if I can handle this.

I'm writing a book about this right now. It's called I Have Nothing to Show For the Last 14 Years. There will be two sentences dedicated to how Mr. Postman does--followed by childish ridicule and "I don't fucking care"'s, 320 pages of how much I love myself hidden in the cozy confines of self-depreciation, and 1 page of citation. I'm gonna make millions.

But seriously. Shame.

Too bad. I was looking forward to his Palin commentary. I don't agree with everything David Postman writes, but I respect his encyclopedic knowledge of northwest politics. The man knows his shit, and to me, he represents the old-school tradition of journalists: reporters who got where they are by persistence, knowledge and scrappiness as opposed to a fancy journalism degree from a fancy school.

He gave the lefty wonks a lot to chew on.

Unless Savage plans on offering him a job preaching to the choir with your paper, let's move on.
