I will never vote for Obama because he is a bastard son. What was his mom thinking when she didn't abort?
Double posted = twice as boring.
Most of all, it's a way to convince swing voters that the protestors stand for all lefties and Dems, and don't give a shit for people like those swing voters.
Meanwhile the double barrled hurricanes aimed at Florida and SC compel us to give up all of coastal Texas and LA. all fo Florida, and most of SC, too. Those dumbass folks living in paths of hurricanes. WE certainly should stop helping them and their all-too-frequent "disasters."
Hey did you catch the view of Mt. Rainier today? Awesome. I was driving in that really flat plain you know the only flat parts around here down south through Kent valley and neat Tacoma and boy, it was beautiful. God those dumbass southerners they live somewhere dangerous, instead of somewhere pretty like it is here. With Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, MT. St. Helens, Mt. Baker, etc.
Weird huh?
PC @3, for the love of Christ, will you just shut up and/or drop dead?
@3: Like the saying goes... the opposite of love is indifference. I think it'd be a radical change to get a bunch of protesters together in St. Paul... and build a playground. Or paint a community center. Or work in soup kitchens. Ignore the shit out of the convention.
THAT would be a powerful statement. Especially if they brought their puppets.
Imagine if all that hatred turned to aid...to helping the people of NOLA!
These zombies have too much time on their hands.
The MSP-area City Pages is reporting that protesters were pepper-sprayed:
7: Good. They're acting like jackholes. (I know, not all of them, but it's always the bad apples, you know?)

Whoops, URL has been updated.
I love those little queer protestors, so cute!
the protests are largely peaceful? regardless of what side you fall on politically, at this point, that is just not true.
It's instructive to discover that when people thrust sticks into the cages of kept animals they react - almost without exception - violently. Is that worth a coma? blood loss? broken limbs?
I'm on your side intellectually, but seriously wasn't WTO a "teaching" experience that ended up proving precious little for either side?
As a Minnesota native, it's nice to see those pictures - St. Paul's Cathedral, the Capitol Building... They're impressive structures.
@3, yes it is strange that not everyone chooses to live here in the northwest where they could be living at the base of volcanoes and atop shifty tectonic plates.
while it is beautiful here, it's kind of like eating a spicy mexican meal. everything is all good until it passes through and you become painfully aware that you're sitting on a ring of fire.
The shot of the young gay protesters is a rather pitiable one. No doubt they'd love passing citizens to shout "f-----t" and other obscenities at them for the cameras, but it seems they've been reduced to having to supply their own obscenities against themselves.
Well, protesting imaginary oppressors is certainly an industry with a future. All it takes is imagination, and a few funders like PIRGs to put you up in hostels and buy you pizza.
