Stop trying to make the prescription meme happen; it's not going to happen!

To add one more state to the mix: Obama's up in Virginia, according to the Washington Post.

Among likely voters, Obama claims 49 percent. McCain trails with 46 percent. Can't remember specific numbers off the top, but I believe the new poll shows movement towards Obama.

Virginia hasn't gone Dem in a presidential election since 1964.

Fivethirtyeight.com is currently showing Obama over McCain 312 to 226. Seems quite optimistic to me, but still exciting to see.

Also, as one who has called VA and FL home in recent years, I hope for once in my life that those states (sorry, one state, one commonwealth) will finally step up and back a candidate worth supporting.

You're cherry picking polls. A couple of polls show Obama ahead in FL. Other polls show McCain ahead. Nevertheless, what seems obvious is that FL is in play. Another point of movement, and Obama very well could take FL.

Obama seems to be consistently moving ahead in VA in most recent polls, which is a very good sign.

There are several former red states that are now very much purple, and the polls are consistently moving in Obama's direction.

My election anxiety level is now moving down a tiny bit.
