Perverse

The McCain campaign puts out an education attack ad that suggests Obama wants to sex up kindergarten students. (Check out the photo of Obama that hangs for several seconds at the end of the commercial. Hmm. Are they trying to tell us something?)

Team Obama hits back with a statement:

It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls – a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds. Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was. Now we know why.

Um... I think Obama just called Palin a "pig"...

A new poll showing Obama ahead by one point from the Wall Street Journal and NBC News:

http://s.wsj.net/public/resources/documents/WSJ_NBC_POLL090908.pdf

Conventional wisdom says convention bounces settle back after a week or so.

Of course, nutjob conservatives think NBC is a liberal bastion, the same NBC that took Olbermann and Matthews of the political anchor desk, and the WSJ is hardly liberal, but hey if enough conservatives say it, liberals start to believe it.

@1. No he didn't. Jesus Fucking Christ. Did he say "Palin's a pig in lipstick!"? No, he didn't. Saying that the crowd allegedly thought he was referring to Palin is just stupid. Where does that even come from? Stupid "liberal" media again, I guess. STOP. Just stop.

"The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: 'lipstick.'"

Not a stretch: Pit bull... Hockey mom... lipstick... pig in lipstick... Hockey mom... Palin.

According to the reporter, the crowd of Obama supporters seemed to make the connection...

Also... gotta love the smells like old fish line. That should go miles with women voters. (Obama used to choose his words so carefully...)

@1 - Have you never heard the expression "putting lipstick on a pig" before? It means, trying to make something unappelaing more palatable. Do you know what idioms are?

@6: No, he doesn't. All he knows how to do is be an obnoxious ass and spam every political post with the same stupid bullshit.

@6 Possbily (maybe even probably?) that was his intention. It sounds like the crowd took it differently though.

I mean after the Hockey mom / lipstick line "lipstick" seems to be a bit of a buzz word.

I'm betting that this is going to get traction in the next couple of news cycles...

@8. That was no more calling her a pig than saying that McCain was buying a "pig in a poke" by not vetting Palin would be. It's a fucking colloquialism, moron. And there is absolutely no way that that gets "traction" in the next news cycle. Are you retarded?

Hopefully this ad will show Obama's camp that the gloves need to come off. And will similarly show those of you concerned about propogating Palin's reference to him as Sambo that you are unbelievably naive.

I've never seen Obama's skin as dark since when the Hillary camp darkened his skin for one of their ads. Palin and McCain, starting to play the race card. But oh, oh, oh, dems get all scared and cowed if anyone mentions Palin's racist statements to friends. And I'm sure we also don't want to note that McCain likes to use the word gooks.

FEMINIZE MCCAIN. attack his "strength".

Obama needs to claim that McCain rapes little boys.

Seriously people, and these McCain ads are going to get MUCH worse, much much worse. If Obama does not do more than defend himself but fucking attack and attack to destroy McCain Obama will loose and I will need to move to Canada. (Which fucking takes 25 months!!! Did you guys see that on the immigration website?!?!?)

Oh, that John McCain

Sitting on a park bench
eying little girls
with bad intent.
Snots running down his nose
greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.
Drying in the cold sun
Watching as the frilly panties run.
Feeling like a dead duck
spitting out pieces of his broken luck.

@11
Sambo? Wow. That'd sure be racist. Got a link or something?

Meanwhile, I'd have to say if you want to call someone shameless, it's better to just say "John McCain has no shame" than to say the following:

"It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign [1] to use a bill [2] that was written to protect young children from sexual predators [3] as a recycled and discredited political attack [4] against a father of two young girls [5] – a position that his [6] friend Mitt Romney also holds [7] . Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was [8]. Now we know why [9]."

Comments --
1. Why let McCain off the hook with ref. to campaign, not to McCain personally?

2. bill = legislative jargon

3. Many listeners would think at this point, "oh, John McCains was using a bill to protect children from predators?"

4. assumes listener knows exactly which recycled attack is referred to.

5. a vague reference to OBama, assumes knowledge

6. " a position that" -- referring to a "position" on issues is too intellectual. Listener can be confused. Also, reference is unclear, is the position referred to that of being dad to 2 girls? Need clearer antecedent.

7. Romney holding position is unclear and assumes knowledge.

8. Inability to define honor is a modest statement coming after years of imprisonment and getting extra torture for being honorable. Why kick off those pro-McCain facts?

9. Too vague and indirect.

Suggest the following rewrite:

"John McCain is standing with sex predators who opposed my efforts to empower victims to recognize and protect themselves from these perversts. McCain is actually complaining that I took action against these sex perverts. I guess he'll stand with anyone and do anything to get into the White House. John McCain -- have you no shame?"

Then start refer to him as "No-shame McCain" in every speech, after every new lying smear.

There's a big difference between "proving" someone is a jerk with the double reverse spin irnoy that intellectuals eat up, versus sticking a knife into his fucking guts, ripping them out and dragging him around by the intestines.

"No-shame McCain's at it again. Today he claimed that the Freddie and Fannie bailout refelcts lack of regulation. But he was in the SEnate the last 26 years! So the same guy who messed up in the Keating 5 scandal and learned nothing from the S& L failure and bailout is at it again! No-shame McCain -- he'll do anything to get into the White House where you can expect more of the same. No-shame MCain -- you get the same; Obama/Biden -- you get change. In particular, we're going to stop these financial scams that the insiders allowed and restore your American Dream.

"Now if a conservatorship is good enough for the housing industry, let's get all health care plans into one national conservatorship so you get the same benefits as me and No-shame McCain........."

Huh. That kinda makes sense, PC. As a copywriter and proofreader I have to agree that the language of Team Obama's response could have used some serious editing.

Every time you post some of the bullshit tactics that McCain is pulling, I get closer and closer to giving Obama money. Maybe if you made it easier for me -like ending the post with a link to Obama's donation site- I would knee-jerk react and follow through. Just a suggestion but hey, maybe I'm the only one who scratches their wallet with every utterance of "Palin".

McCain just called Obama a child molester.

Huh? McCain's the pro-child-molester here.

SB 99 would have taught kindergarten kids the difference between good touches and bad touches. McCain's position keeps kids ignorant of what the child molester is doing, because he wants the kids kept ignorant.
