It's good to see him get back to his strong oratorical style.

I want this guy in the White House so bad it hurts. Clips like this remind me why.

No, actually, you didn't fix it. He says "There's some folks who are going through their own quiet storms." at 8:17.
Please be more careful putting things in quotes...

i get the feeling that"s the kind of thing he cobbles together in the shower in the morning. Sort of a lesser speech, a low-key one-off for the union crowd on what was to be Labor Day but instead was GUSTAV-DAY ONE! But even so, it's miles ahead--in structure, in pitch-perfectness, in inspiration--of what we have come to expect from our "leaders." I feel sorry for people who don't understand how different and gifted Obama is, and for people for whom talent and intelligence are sinister threats.

When he stoops closer to the microphone at key points to raise his voice he looks a little awkward. That probably could have been avoided by placing the microphone higher.

Why isn't he up by 28 points?

Honestly, he could just mean only half of what he says and that still would be better than John "Senility is my real VP" McCain.

"There are plenty of people who just graduate high school who want to go to college and don't have the money."

Coming home from Bumbershoot, I heard someone have this exact conversation with a girl who had just graduated high school. She wants to go to college next year, but she has no idea how to afford it. My last girlfriend had to drop out of Central because her parents couldn't pay for it anymore.

I must admit, Obama's speeches make me feel a little wistful for all the great jokes Canadians will no longer be able to make at Americans' expense when this man becomes your president.

Meanwhile, we're stuck with a leader who has the distinct air of an aging youth pastor who never got caught.
