Good to know that God has a plan for us. Seems like we don't even need a president if that's the case. Hell, we can probably pull the troops out of Iraq, too, since God has us covered.

If I didn't know it was a woman saying this shit, I'd think these were Bush quotes.

We *are* fucked, well and hard.

Well-traveled? If that's a qualification for a candidacy, I'm pretty sure most of the Slog and its commenters are more qualified than her.

And speaking as one of the "hell yeah I've been out of the country, I've been to Canada and Mexico" masses, I'm pretty sure those two don't count.

Sweet Jeebus,

This monstrous psycho should be in a rubber room, not the governor's or VP's office.

Not that I think that being able to eyeball a country should count as a qualification...

But, you can see Russia from Alaska. At its closest, Alaska and Russia are separated by just 3 miles (Little Diomedes Island). Closest point not an island is Wales Alaska, 55 miles from Siberia.

The religion in some villages is Russian Orthodox.

OK, I'll stop being pedantic about Alaska now.

Should we be starting some sort of "end of the world" pool or something?

"What's that Mr. Plouffe? Yep, I'm getting my checkbook right now."

What an absolutely terrifying breadth of ignorance and short-sightedness.

Apologies for the poor wording of my previous comment. I should have just said "Palin" instead of "a woman".

I have this truly awful vision of the first State of the Union speech in a new administration and, as the ceremonies begin, Nancy Pelosi leans over and slaps Sarah Palin senseless. Oooh, please wake up America!

"Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state ..."

Years?! How about TWENTY FUCKING MONTHS. The lies and exaggeration continue. If there is a God, help us!

Otherwise, from reading the transcript, she recites answers like a latter-day Manchurian Candidate.

I would like to propose a new drinking game. Every time the pig mentions anything whatsoever to do with Alaska, take a shot.

You'd probably be dead in about ten minutes.

She is totally bullshitting her way through the entire interview. If you want to know what it sounds like when someone crams all night for an oral exam on something she knows nothing about, listen to this interview. It is a textbook example.

I've been to Canada and Mexico more times than Sarah, so I guess that means I get to be VP and she gets to be an ignorant slut.

American women with children are responding very well to Palin.

65 percent say they feel she is talking about them, and are delighted that they finally have a strong voice in the political arena, who understand their lives. (suspect these are not the stereo type militant feminist women, sort of that second generation of self aware women, 25 - 40 years od)

Just how many women have children and what does that mean? Ten million, 20 million - more?

I think most of the early assumptions about Palin have been off target and shallow.

She has shaken the bottle in a dozen ways - and it is interesting that many Dems. are thinking in one dimensional linear fashion about her.... at the peril of the Obama campaign.

Howls from midnight personal angst won't change anything, either, even if they relieve frustration. Perhaps, Mc Cain made a brilliant choice , and Obama made the political mistake of this era. ( and fuck you to irrational Clinton haters)

Sadly, it might come to simply that.
