Overheard at the Anti-Flag Protest Concert
The singer, from the stage, in the middle of a rhetorical fit:
…and all children should have access to the kind of education Palin’s children had!
Um, you sure about that, Anti-Flag singer guy?
(Also: A well-dressed middle-aged woman, who looks like she just walked out of the Xcel Center, saw me typing, and leaned over expectantly, like she was about to give me a bonbon: “You know, some band called Rage the Machine will be here in about 20 minutes.”)

Posted by dwight moody | September 2, 2008 5:12 PMjustin sane, the singer dude, used to date my roommate back in Pittsburgh in '94 or '95. we once heard him talking to himself in the bathroom (it was next to my bedroom) saying, "You're awesome. chicks dig you. chicks think you're awesome." no way to cofirm this, but i always assumed he was talking to his reflection.

And, it should be noted, that chicks DO dig him, and his kind of self-talk isn't a sign of weirdness or weakness.

The crowd (of about 1,000) then marched to the Xcel Center, where they briefly toyed with the idea of climbing over the barricades separating them from the convention.
"Soldier, I come in peace!" a lady warbled. "I'm going to climb up there!" Police, wearing gas masks, shook their heads and pulled out canisters of pepper spray. The lady didn't climb over.

Posted by Greg | September 3, 2008 9:50 AMI think what he meant was that children of all walks of life (poor, middle class, wealthy class) should be entitled to receive great education that I'm sure not only Palin's children have received, but McCain's, Bush's, Obama's etc.
You only quoted a small portion of what he actually said. He also mentioned that children of this country should be entitled to the best healthcare possible. Healthcare that Palin's pregnant daughter will receive, because she is a VP Hopeful.
