self-selcted pool. meaningless results. gamers don't pick the president. old people & low-information women do.

i agree with #1. it's not like you have the 45-65 y.o demographics using XBox Live.

If Obama or a 527 group rekindles the Keating 5 Scandal against McCain, McCain's in big trouble.

Don't get excited people. Consider the demographic. XBox Live is hardly a forum that represents heartland voters, the elderly, minorities, or the poor.

This headline should read "Gamers like Obama." End of story. Not a big headline or revelation, in my opinion.

Oh, and do gamers even get off their designer beanbags to ACTUALLY vote? That remains to be seen.

@3 also beyond the demographic of XBL players the age must be considered also, I'm sure a lot of the people who voted in the poll can't actually vote in the election.

McCain has yet to denounce the wing of his party that increasingly wants to ban/monitor video game sales for 'mature games', things like locking up cashiers that sell mature rated games to kids (and no punishment for their parents). In John McCain's world we'd all be playing Disney games

low information women? wtf? uhh, which gender usually watches fox news and which one watches the view (the only real journalists on tv, as we've determined)?

i'm shocked that obama won the xbox live poll. i've heard guys talk on there and i assumed only klansmen played xbox live?

The "XBox community" consists mostly of infantile 30 year old adults who act 13. Example: that couple that get in the back seat of the animated SUV commercial.

Real gamers use PCs that they built themselves. (That's what I did.)

this is after all, just a sad joke. remember, you are reading the slog. but, nonetheless, i hope all those gamers do leave their house and vote!

obama 2008!

@8: old & stupid women watch FoxNews.

@8 -- I can think of a bunch of women I know personally, unfortunately, who watch FOX. #1 is spot-on. The same low-info women who watch The View get nearly all of their political information from the television (and their husbands) before and after they pick their kids up from their mediocre public schools.

It should scare the bejesus out of Obama supporters that he only carried 43% of Xboxers... The majority, 57%, rejected him. Ouch!

I'm shocked that McCain could carry 31% of this demographic.

Fortunately they will probably be too stoned to find the Polls. So its probably irrelevant.

Xbox Live is huge in swing states and rural towns. Also, my guess is, people who willingly dig through the service's menus to find the Rock The Vote pages and vote might be more likely to hit the polls than people who sit around all day waiting to answer their landline and talk to Gallup callers.

I should know better than to defend gamers, but it's worth noting that Xbox Live has tons of members outside the Halo 3 racists. Typically, that wide spectrum of gamers gets political information from Internet outlets more often than talking-points media sources. They're probably more well-read than people who rely on, say, Entertainment Weekly and People. I don't know that Gallup polls specifically target that Internet-savvy audience without being inundated with web-poll spammers, so there's value in how a nationwide poll with that common interest (and, again, no web-poll spamming) shakes out.

Would love to see a state-by-state breakdown of the results, along with age brackets--which Microsoft surely gathered. Though I assume Ron Paul supporters spammed the vote with the "Other" button... so, you know, there's that.

Of course, all the Paultardites have to do is cast a Seal of the Crusader spell on Obama/McCain and they could do away with those leads in no time.

I'm not saying anything until I see the results for the Playstation 3 poll.

"Games Without Frontiers... War Without Fears...."

(please remember this is not a parody of Peter Gabriel...)

Who here wants to know if Obama prefers the small sins of wine and alcohol in moderation ....

( and of course the nominal gains by "super-industrialists" in the bottle plant worlds and can building consortiums...)

over the larger dangers of feeding children with war torn solidiers and families and members of family parts in other parts of the world besides their body?

Is this too much double speak for you or should I be clear headed and take a puff of marijuana....

and slow down my brain enough to talk with calm and cool detatchment?

Is there anybody who hasn't looked up the origin of Senator Obama's name?

You could fondly call him...

"The General"....

.... as he will be leading the Strongest Military in terms of...

( or maybe you might prefer a EUROPEAN VIEW... less cavalier and TEXAN...)

a group of Nations and
Groups of Representatives of the
HUMAN RACE, and their

NUCLEAR collections of
destructive power and weather control conductivity experimanetal radars and space war technologies....

surely,

The future President should understand that adults and docents in the library 'que' in certain dialogs for children after school during readings...

(in the crisis clinic reverse 9-11 after school monitoring programs and internal
9-11 telephone fire lines),

and surely most Presidents to be,

should know that some adult behaivors include drinking of alchohol and imbibing on doctor prescriptions after work for stress related anxiety.

Some doctors prescribe pills for pain as well... mostly for injury and
"mind disorders" and other related illness....

often upon and after many years of testing and fighting in the medical system, and the military.... without release of secrecy patents...

for chronic pain illness catagories....

Should Marijuana be added to the list of
FREE MY MEDICINE????

I believe Yes is the answer.

It would be Coooool.

Do you know why?

Because EVERY TEEN AGER IN AMERICA KNOWS that the GESTAPO DOG SNIFFING LEGACY OF GEORGE W. BUSH'S
*{daddy bush and daddy vice bush and daddy vice bush dick cheney's)

WAR ON TERROR is a CITY FULL OF BOMB DOGS AND DRUG DOGS and more pet dogs who poop,

AND WALKIE TALKIES and more phones and insurance brokers and anytime a teenager tries to SNEEK a PUFF of POT, you can smell it a mile away...

(that is of course if it's the good NORTHWEST SUPER DOPE, LOVE TO SMOKE YOU DOPE KILLER WEED MARIJUANA !!!!)

{you know the kind the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALLOWS TO BE GROWN IN THE FOREST AND THEN CONVIENENTLY DISCOVERED RIGHT BEFORE HEMPFEST CELEBRATIONS!}

So what's the answer?

More testing on preschool kids and grade school kids and high school kids not yet out of puberty, and children not yet fully formed in their brains so they can have permenant multiple pill disease while the dad's and mom's are at war in another country with missing limbs and brains....

half alive..... or walking around with holes...
in their spines...
from schKKRRAPNEL(?!)

Should we keep the army here at home and let them recoup and smoke dope if they want to for pain and calmness.. {hint to the moderator(ists)...}
[translation: tea totelers]

Should we spend money to have more stay at home parents and not worry about stolen machine guns from the armoury running off with lots of U.S. CURRENCY offered in foreign lands as reward for terrorists and then spend billions more to buy weapons of destruction to go fight to retrieve that currency and then raise taxes to pay for the failed home loans called in because the mothers at home can't hold it together on their own????

Remeber off topics...some people like to have a small puff and then some Chamomile tea to make it laaaassst...

Or should we keep spending money on more debates between those who would claim to have never "sinned" in the bedroom or while surfing online?

(Hint: we already know the nanny-mommy- daddy laws work in the local library...)

PUHLEEEESE!....let's leave the FEDERAL PROSECUTOR AUTO-LAWYERS ON E-MAIL PATROL OUT OF THIS E-mail FIGHT)[they surely have enough time on their hands prosecuting CEO's on the hook for Bail out loans and felony purrrrrrjuries....]

I'd like a President tough enough to take a stance on this issue and follow through...

and a Senator who loses to PUT A VERY BIG BOOT INTO CONGRESS TO FIX THIS TOPIC OF THE WAR ON TERROR AIMED AT MARIJUANA AND ALCHOHOL SALES AND SLEEP IMPAIRMENT AND MOMMIES AGAINST DRUNK DRIVERS AND GUNS FOR THUGS!!!!!

I believe someone should kick the military in the ass from the parental civilian side of being born in and dying from
WAR DURRESS!!!!!!

Any body who looks at the popular Magazines on display in the libraries and bookstores and supermarkets...

will see the glorification of Seattle super bars on it to drink in moderation and flirt flirt flirt... so as to get your game on and be a little tipsy!!

Why is HIGH TIMES SO GAWD DARN THREATENING?????

Answers to this and other major debates surely to be scrutinized by webmasters everywhere!!!!

ok ok, fox news viewers are only 51% male. but, you just need to view this graphic to see how "uninformed" women are compared to men:

PBS is doing a poll which asks if Palin is qualified to be VP. The right
wing has organized a yes campaign--and the "yes" is at the moment winning.
It took me less than a minute to vote. Go to:

I like the Halo Vote.

In the Halo Vote, you frag the McCain Socialists with extreme prejudice.

Obama's winning 6:1 in that vote.
