2008 More Good News for Obama

onWASHINGTON — As Congress prepares to debate expansion of drilling in taxpayer-owned coastal waters, the Interior Department agency that collects oil and gas royalties has been caught up in a wide-ranging ethics scandal—including allegations of financial self-dealing, accepting gifts from energy companies, cocaine use and sexual misconduct…The reports portray a dysfunctional organization that has been riddled with conflicts of interest, unprofessional behavior and a free-for-all atmosphere for much of the Bush administration’s watch.
Nothing sounds better on a TV attack ad than “cocaine use” and “sexual misconduct”—along with “President Bush,” “Republican party,” and “corruption.”

Look, if this were the IRS, or the DOE, I could understand the investigation.
But this was an oil royalties collection agency. This is a witch hunt!
I don't know. Republicans just do this better, Obama is going to blow this like every other attack.
The republicans have this game down, dems are clueless.
What does this post have to do with lipstick?
"John McCain wants to give Big Oil's pawns in the Department of the Interior more money for strippers and coke. After eight years of this, we can't afford another president like Bush."
I'm pretty sure the using cocaine is still totally illegal, and yet, somehow I don't think any of these guys are going to see the inside of a jail cell like all of us common folk would in the same situation. Why do we give these people the benefit of the doubt?
Can't us dems finally grow some balls and put somebody behind bars?
"I am shocked - SHOCKED! - to find this going on!"
"Here's the coke-encrusted trollop you ordered, Senator McCain."
Should be about a tenth as damaging to the GOP as the Rangel debacle will end up being for the Dems. But a girl can dream...
Another typical liberal/Democratic trope: "Oh, joy! Scandal!" Strange how bad news for the country is good news for them. Is unemployment up? Is the stock market down? Are companies laying off and moving out of the country? Are taxes and spending and government bailouts going ever higher? It's all GOOD!! (You will notice they talk smack at Republicans for bailing out failing corporations, but they will NOT vote to oppose such bailouts.)
