It’s sad that all the real journalists are either on The View or veterans of The View.

McCain is a lier, we all have seen this, he will not change his old habits. What else does the people in America want to see so they realize he is in favor of lobbyist , he has 19 working for today. Starting with Rick Davis and people vote for McCain, they deserve all the wrong doing he does should he become president.America needs to move on or loose our position in the world, our education is 16th, our economy is broke, healthcare expencive, one war we should not be in costing billio's,gasoline high, and he brings in a VP that is not qualified. Also her pastor is a witch hunter.

EVEN WORSE, he says, " . . . we should have that criteria." CRITERIA IS PLURAL, OLD MAN! It's a criterion, you doddering fool.

While I'm happy to paint McCain as a hypocrite... I don't think this is necessarily a strong attack video.

I think what he said on that "later that morning" clip on CNN is pretty logical. Who is going to argue with not giving the Lehman executives huge bonuses?

And, the link to Carly's golden parachute is a bit specious. Why should we hold him accountable for that? Now, I'm not saying that $45 million is a reasonable package, but the package was determined according to her contract and the HP Board voted to give it to her.

I don't know... I think he could have said something like, "I'm not sure how I would have voted if I were on the HP Board" and/or "I may not agree with everything that all of my advisers have ever said or done in their professional lives, but they each bring a value perspective to my campaign that I value".

Instead, he just comes across like if he expresses any kind of opinion on the matter, he's doomed. Kind of like the insurance covering birth control 10 second pause.

Criterion is an elitist word.

He's still able to work in a "MAH FRIENDS," (1:25)

If I have to hear "My friends" for 4 years, I may kill myself well before McCain drives the country further into the toilet.

Side note...do they sell McCain toilet seats? I would almost buy one.

Julie in Chicago- the problem with your argument is that you are assuming that the interviewer is attacking McCain based on the presumption that he could have done something about her bailout.

That is not the case- and it IS an extremely effective video. This is because she is NOT saying he had a hand in her bailout- but rather by having her on his team as a top financial adviser he is employing- and promoting- the very person who got exactly what he was earlier speaking out against!

By having her on his side he is effectively saying one thing to the audience and doing something entirely different with his policy. If he were truly against the concept of Golden Parachutes for idiot executives who are FIRED he wouldn't be employing one! Especially as an adviser!

Get it? I hope you do. It's not that hard to understand. Don't agree with something? Then don't tout around one of the biggest current beneficiaries of the policy you are fighting against. It's like if McCain got up and gave a huge speech denouncing gay Marriage but then turned around and made Dan Savage the head of his Marriage Avisory Board.

Uh, @8, I understand the implicit argument against McCain, thanks.

I'm saying that I don't believe that McCain, or Obama, should be held accountable for every decision or action that every single one of their advisers has made in their professional lives.

I'm also saying that I think McCain could have come out against Carly's package, while still employing her as an adviser. He could have said, well, that's not what I would have done as a Board member (or as a CEO for that matter), but she still brings an important perspective and valuable input to the campaign.

I don't see the golden parachute as that big of a deal. Partly because HP's situation was extremely different from Lehman's, and partly because of the details of her contract make the $45 million number seem less outrageous when you look into it.

I think a better analogy would be that it would be like if Obama, who believes in merit pay for teachers, hired as an education adviser someone who actively quashed a merit pay proposal while working for a district or a state education board.
