Are comments being reviewed? I haven't seen any of my own.
Am I the only one who can't see the liveslog widget, only the lovelab banner thing?
Huh. I see the widget but it's filled with "Lorem ipsum" gobbledygook and it dies at 3:42 even after refresh.

Liveblogging worked fine during the conventions.
Lordy.... I can see we're in full henhouse mode over on the liveslog. Too many theatre types in there - they're acting like it's an opening night.
I can only see a CNN video (embedded) :-(
McCain just slammed a Boeing contract! He just lost Washington!
McCain just said "wind-tied solar." He meant "grid-tied solar"--where your house stays connected to the power lines so you can sell back the surplus electricity from your rooftop panels and thus reduce your cost toward zero (and hopefully beyond, if they change the laws the way they should).
McCain always addresses "Senator Obama." Obama keeps saying "John...". That seems like a mistake on Obama's part.
I've heard "maverick" and the "fundamentals of the economy are strong." A couple times. Hic.
one problem with this app: when a poll comes up or goes away, it scrolls me back up to the top of the discussion. It's very annoying!
Did McCain have "relations" while in the PoW camp?
What was that fire engine red outfit Cindy was wearing? Michelle wore a pretty and gracious appearing dress. I always thought Republican women had the edge on more distinctive and appropriate attire. This is worrisome.
My comments were totally ignored as well.
Given that Bill Clinton defended McCain this week over the debates and Obama agreeing with McCain tonight..well is Obama going to vote for McCain?!?!?
@11
It's a little late now, but there's a button at the bottom of the application that toggles the window scrolling. You'll know for next time, I guess.
Peace!
To those complaining about comments: they get a shitload, while providing their own commentary, that they have to go through.
Raindrop, you've now satisfied two parts of the Republican voting stereotype: You own three homes and you judge women entirely on their appearance and suitability as arm candy.
Mr Poe would not care, they always post his.
@11
Oops. I think I missed your point. Who's drunk?
All I can say is that the polls weren't causing a problem for me. Wonky plug-in/browser?
i to noticed that most of my comments never made it through. oh well, it's not like they were important.
@18
They posted 1/4 of my comments, douchebag. Post now, post worthy, post often. Biatch.
Obama should have started saying "I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition!"
Did Obama forget John McCain's first name about 3 different times?
I guess Alzheimer's sets in early in Illinois...
It would be nice if there could be two versions of the live blogging stream: one that includes every comment and one that includes just the approved comments.
All I have to say is next time I'm not picking a booze milkshake for my drinking game drink. I am so sick to my stomach right now!
Hey, I just noticed, on my wrist, I have a bracelet too! Can I be President now?
Don't mind Johnny boy - he's got the Rogaine blues today. And I've got the shakes. Living with that man has got me on a three pack and two bottle a day diet - and we can't even afford that anymore, thanks to Mr. Peeboy.
Hey Bailo! How was Worksource today????
Jesus. How'd I ever get in this pickle? There was a time when every man at Canlis wanted me. I could walk in that bar, and never have to worry about who'd get me a drink. Yet I had to pick him. Christ.
@23 - Did McCain seem to refuse to look in Obama's direction once during the whole debate?
I guess some massa's still don't want to be associated with the uppity he'p.
"censored posts"? you guys are being too self-important AND giving the stranger way too much credit. blame it on whatever live-blog-monkey software they're using.
@13 re: Cindy, it's that trollop thing.
@28
So start your own blog. Solvency.
@ 26
Mmmmoooommmmmmm!
You are embarrassing me in front of my friends!
Now go away and I promise tomorrow I'll wax your dew-lap. ok?
argh, I hate hearing from these stupid undecided voter groups.
"I didn't hear anything about how they'd [insert topic to be solved]." These are clueless people who obviously have never had an interest in looking up JM's and BO's stances on issues. They expect one debate to instantly answer all of the outstanding questions they have. Voters are idiots. Palin bent my wookie.
Like Hell I'll disappear! You're not the one who has to sit at home all day and take the calls from Countrywide while you're off being a "human urinal", or whatever that crap you were trying to sell me on was called. Leave that shit for Savage!
Good Giving and Game my ass! I'd like to see him spout that line after you had your little diaper incident on HIS suede couch.
Barak here,
I was about to go to bed, but first I just wanted to let all you Slogger's know I'm saving my good material for the third debate. It's called "rope-a-dope" and McCain won't see it... crap did I just quote a Muhammad Ali?! I gotta stop drawing these comparisons.
Someone google 'Cleveland Steamer'.
John McCain did not look at Barak while he was talking. Barak didn't stare at John while he was talking but did seem to be engaged and listening to what he said. I heard Barak say several times that he agreed with John McCain which I found interesting. I am attributing it to Barak wanting to take the high road. The thing that really fucking pissed me off though was how when the camera would include John McCain (while Barak was talking) he looked like he was trying not to laugh. I think he is an arrogant fucker and I really wanted to smash his smarmy face.
One other thought, during interviews following the debate, Joe Biden was interviewed...hmmm...not Sarah Palin, uh yeah. She's probably having some surgical implant done for the debate with Joe Biden-like some Mission Impossible gadget in her hair.
I'm sending more money to Barak.
@22
>Obama should have started saying "I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition!"
Noone expects the Alaska Politician!
Did anyone else catch that weird comment where McCain was talking about how a nuclear-armed Iran would pose an "existential" threat to Israel?
For a moment I thought the old "GW slapstick show" was at the podium with
its usual hilarity.
Obama would have looked GREAT in an orange pantsuit.
I'm thoroughly dispirited by Obama's performance. My comment: http://bumble.tumblr.com/post/51967403/pack-your-bags
@39
and Mccain would have looked great in one of his wife's $300,000 dresses!
Who won?
Cuz I didn't see one minute and that is ok with me.
obama did what he needed to, mccain left the gate open.
McCain's post-debate "ad":
The Republicans have won.
Poe, by "won" do you mean not curb kicked in a fashion that befits them forever and evers, being douchehats... or by "won" do you mean they can now live another day to bother us again like a blooming rash we forgot to treat.
bish which is it? we're diieeeing to know.
#45 isn't me. Duh.
oopsies, thought you got a bit defeatist. lurvs you again.
@19- I'm on firefox on a mac, so who knows. Meh!
Maybe instead of starting our own blog Mr Poe, I will just take my advertizing dollars elsewhere.
Didn't rolling his eyes at Bush hurt Gore (or so they think)? It sounds like McCain came off as rude during the debate, which will hopefully hurt him with people that vote more on feeling than policy.
I do NOT want Slog to become one of those mandatory registration websites, but regular contributors should be able to (anonymously) password-protect their identities to curtail shit like @45 above.
Yes, even that crotch-fungus Bailo.
After reading all of the polls this morning, pretty much all declaring Obama certainly the winner, if not a pretty clear winner, can we all now agree that you guys know nothing about how "average" Americans are going to view anything? Particularly how they view a debate? Obama needed to look presidential and his debate strategy should always be "wait for McCain to self-destruct" and give him enough ammo to do it - cause he always will.
I believe Barak did look presidential. I do agree that with enough rope...
@44 goddamn Karl Rove and how many other fuckers just fucking spin
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/27/opinion/polls/main4482119.shtml
The first presidential debate helped uncommitted voters learn about the candidates - and it appears that Democrat Barack Obama benefited the most, according to a CBS News/Knowledge Networks poll taken immediately following the debate.
We went to the Twilight Exit to watch the debate last night. I think Paul Constant was there, and perhaps some other Stranger folk (several were live slogging). It was heartening to see the place Standing Room Only filled mostly with people under 30. The Twilight Exit staff did a great job of managing the crush of food and drink orders, though I'm sure it was different having the place so full and so quiet at the same time!
A special thanks to a guy named Adam (wearing a fine satin smoking jacket) who waited in the drink line and then made four trips back to his table carrying cans of Olympia beer. Everyone around was thinking he must really need to drown some sorrows... but then he turned to people nearby and started handing out the cans of beer! He said he just wanted to do something nice since the drink line was so long. Thanks, Adam!
OBAMA-BIDEN '08!
