"Dolly Parton is the great celebrity in the history of the world."?

1. Agreed re: Dolly.

2. Congratulations! This is one of the happiest posts I have ever read on Slog.

Oh..come on! You don't think that was a set-up?

#3: If so, the fact that she was willing to be set up for such a thing confirms the truth of the statement questioned by #1.

I just realized I have a hold in the crotch of my pants. This, of course, has nothing to do with Dolly Parton, Jake, Schmader, gay marriage, or 9 to 5.

Anyway, congratulations!

Although I will never know happiness in this life and will die just as I have lived -- utterly alone, hoping with each passing moment that all religions are wrong and death is like the flick of a lightswitch and with it my suffering will finally be over -- congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

I'm even working every week in the No on Prop. 8 headquarters here. Making sure other people will be happy in a way that will be forever out of my reach. How perverse is that?

But, anyway, congratulations! And, yes, Dolly rocks!

I don't think I've ever know Schmader without his partner in crime, and their impending nuptials are worth celebrating every day.

Those dudes are in it to win it.

Congrats again, my dear. I wish I knew Dolly, so I could get her to serenade you both. Well, and to hear all her crazy stories from the holler.

Thanks to all well-wishers, and confidential to #10: It's fucking perverse, but yours is exactly the attitude needed to find true love. Good luck.

Thank you, Eric F! For reals. (He kinda introduced Jake and me.)

I wonder how much the residuals/royalties continue to be from that song

"“I Will Always Love You.” “OK, so I don’t sound as good as Whitney, but I make more money off that song than she does,” she quipped."

I want Dolly Parton to win the Tony Award for Best Original Score!

she is the nicest for sure. I used to work room service at the Four Seasons Olympic years ago and she was THE nicest famous person I ever had the pleasure to serve. She'd say "just a little soup and half sandwich, I don't want to be any bother"

Dolly is a multitalented woman! Wish her Broadway version of 9 to 5 was coming to Seattle.
