kid was probably fine 5 minutes after mom left. WTF with parents taking the kids to class nowadays? we walked to the bus & waited in the snow like patriotic american children.

@12: It's not the front page of the paper. It's somewhere on the website, illustrating a story about the first day of school.

And of course, they had to have the mother's permission to use the photo. If she doesn't object (because there really shouldn't be any shame in a kid crying on the first day of school) I have no idea why Lindy does. Except for a little manufactured outrage, I guess.
