I got a birthday card this weekend that played an entire MP3 at me. Similar cards have been on the market for more than 20 years. The future is already over, and the world came to an end in 2004.

Tell us @4: I mentioned the musical cards as a reminder that the "future" Esquire is promoting is stupid and bogus and about as interesting as a musical greeting card. Apparently reading allusions is not your strong suit.

OK - granted, it's no cure for cancer, but why exactly are you pissing all over this? The advent of mass-produced, flexible displays is pretty interesting. At least you can see the foreshadowing of far-ranging implications.

But even if you're not tempermentally suited to hopeful speculation; dismissing it out-of-hand as "stupid and bogus" seems a little disproportionate.
