BBC:

A court in India has postponed the release of a film entitled Hari Puttar, after complaints from the makers of the blockbuster Harry Potter films.
The Indian film tells the story of a 10-year-old boy who moves to England with his family and becomes involved in a plan to save the world.

Here’s the trailer:

And the soundtrack apparently includes a song titled “Hari Puttar Is a Dude,” sung by Sameer and Aishwariya.

Lindy? Can we get a copy of this today?

It looks like the cover of Charlie Bartlett.

Looks more like Home Alone than Harry Potter. I think we may see the Streisand Effect happen here.

I love that the last bit says "do not try this at home" but the voice hurriedly mumbles "do not do this". It's like Engrish, couldn't you run it by one native English speaker. You know, to kind of proofread.

@1 if you guys screen this in seattle, I think I will fly my ass across the country. Terrible comedy is so much funnier in a foreign language!

@6 a lot of times it doesn't matter how we would say it here. Indian English is like British English or Japanese English ("engrish"), in that it is another type of english and they are not striving to make it like ours.

This reminds me of the Indian "Fight Club" that Lindy West reviewed. I got it off Netflix and it was terrible, and not in a good way. I'd rather re-read Lindy's review for 2 hours than watch that again.
