Visual Art
FYI
If you need an LED processor and you are a person anywhere in the world, I am sorry.
The world is out of LED processors right now.
This I heard from a man who needs them to finish an artwork at Harborview Medical Center, where the new building at Ninth and Jefferson is having an art opening next Thursday.

I believe you just mean "LED"..?
Posted by Mr Fuzzy | September 26, 2008 12:55 PMIf not, what is an LED processor?
God, that piece of art looks so honest.
Posted by If you can't beat them.... | September 26, 2008 12:57 PMled processor? like micro-processors that run leds? i seriously doubt the've run out of those. same with leds.
Posted by chet | September 26, 2008 1:00 PMI have a degree in electrical engineering, and I have no idea what an LED Processor is.
I can assure you that the world is not out of LED's. I am also quite sure the world is not out of microprocessors.
I can also say that I am thoroughly confused as to what Jen is talking about.
Posted by Andrew | September 26, 2008 1:10 PMI'd just go with incandescent myself.
Posted by Thomas A. Edison | September 26, 2008 1:24 PMI think she's talking about Fine Arts grad students who process LEDs into elaborate installation pieces.
Posted by Chip | September 26, 2008 1:31 PMI thought she was being facetious?
Posted by PopTart | September 26, 2008 1:33 PMHe should check Digi-Key.

Any PIC type chip will run these. Most anything will run these!
You are doing a disservice by passing along false info. Please correct.
Posted by chet | September 26, 2008 3:16 PMAs an electronics dude, I'm going to give Jen and the artist the benefit of the doubt and assume that there's some specific device that includes a microcontroller and high-brightness driver and maybe communication to talk to some sort of master that is out of stock for a bit.
Sorry for injecting a bit of non-snark into the discussion.
Posted by brian | September 26, 2008 3:46 PMEveryone's moved on.
We're using OLEDs now, organic is the way to go!
