Yes yes yes! Thank you jonah! You know why there isn't a fantasy soccer league? Because even the stranger isn't THAT gay.

I'm with JTC. I do like American football, but nothing beats the beautiful game.

Anyone watch the USA v Cuba game last night? Team USA is, dare I say, looking pretty good. Granted, they beaten Guatemala & Cuba, but they were both road games.

Next up, Trin & Tob on Wednesday.

If I must make an NFL prediction, it is the St. Louis Lambs will suck. Again. But the NFC West pretty much sucks too, you one never knows.

Word.

Is Slog feeling better now? It has had a rough couple of days. Well, I'll attempt to post anyway and hope for the best.

Football!! Yes!! PopTart give her FF team Rize, Tight Ends drink Rize, Tight Ends will crush puny competitors.

Let the parade of injuries commence!

Did you know that the average life expectancy of NFL linemen is about 50 years? That's comparable to Haiti or Mali.

Typical. No love for for the game. The only reason anybody gives to watch soccer is because they want to cornhole the guys they see on TV. You guys remind me of frat boys jacking off to a copy of FHM.

Its football season! Let's puts sex on the back burner for 6 hours on a Sunday. Your balls will survive.

I'm 3 screwdrivers into the morning. Of course I'm snarky.

I could use a screwdriver right about now. I've got the hangover from hell. My sweat smells like Bourgogne and pine tar.

Scary- I'm in for the fantasy league!

Wanting to sleep with the players is only an enhancement on soccer, not the entire reason to watch. It's also faster and doesn't stop every two minutes for a commercial.

The Seahawks are looking kinda mediocre right now.

Marshan Lynch is pretty tough.

Soccer rules!!...=) 45minutes...half time...45 minutes....game over go back to my life....no 3 hour nonsense....=)

Cindy...that's a compelling argument. I increasingly conclude that football wastes too much of my time. Given that I don't really enjoy watching a losing game, it seems a terrible gamble to spend so much time on an uncertain outcome.

Looks like a long season for NW Football, but a short season for me as I think I'll be checking out early.

Can the soccer bullies go somewhere else? I was hoping to fave a good time conversing with the other teams on the Slog's Fantasy Football League. Unfortunately I have Seattle as my defense but some of my other players are doing better than expected.

Fucking AMEN! I paused the Lambs game @ kickoff for half an hour, and fast forwarded through the commercials. I caught up to real time TV by half time. It was a good thing too 'cause the Eagles were kicking the shit out of S.t Louis.

Also, I take exception to the insinuation that I only watch futbol for the hot guys. I watch it for the love of the game. It is after the game (when they all take their shirts off) that I start oogling.

@15 - Everyone is glad soccer is finally over after 90 min.

God Damn the Hawks looked rough today...Dropped balls, Julius Jones fell over every time he hit the line (until the score was out of hand) and Burleson hurt his knee...Its gonna be another long wait. Fuck I hate Seattle sports!!!!

Hey Wisepunk. Are you playing the Slog Fantasy League as the Spikers?

Posted by elswinger | September 7, 2008 1:36 PM
22

I read somewhere that an average NFL game contains less than 8 minutes of actual play. Does anyone know if this is true?

Posted by Jo Spot | September 7, 2008 1:37 PM

Hey Wise! Are you playing as the Spikers in the Slog League (I'm the Stoners). If so our QBs are up against each other on FOX.

Jonah - DNP's by Coles and McAllister are your downfall today.

¡Viva los Taints!

What a crappy way to start Sunday.

Marshawn Lynch... what do you do with a guy like that?

Where was Patrick Kearny?

Why couldn't Plackemeier kick?

What's with Burleson's fair catches?

I hope Forte has a great debut. I benched Jamal Lewis at the last minute because he wasn't supposed to play.

May be a re-post, so apologies if it is.

Nooo, not Burleson. Damn. Well, most of my teams lost, but I didn't do too badly and I still have a couple games tomorrow. (Come on Jay Cutler, don't let me down). I'm sorry I doubted my defensive line, Baltimore did just fine.

p.s. Fucking Seahawks, Josh Brown is a God, a God I tell you, why did you let him go? Why? Why? Why?

Posted by PopTart | September 7, 2008 3:48 PM

@23

Yes I am the spikers. My team really sucked today. My non slog team scored 115 with another player to go tonight, so you rule this week.

dammit.

Between the Seattle teams I love and Newcastle, I've got sports misery covered this year.

All my NFL teams went into the dumper today - Browns, Hawks, Chargers.

#22 I think that is wrong. They have to play for 8 minutes out of every 15 minute quarter (there is a

Now 8 minutes of play out of 9 innings of baseball I can beleive.
