Enclosure (in a Letter to the Editor) of the Day

posted by on September 5 at 0:35 AM

Uh, has this already been all over the web? I haven’t seen it, a Google image search isn’t giving me any matches to it, and the letter-to-the-editor writer (the email they sent is in a thread that mentions http://whatreallyhappened.com and alaskacafe.blogspot.com, though I can’t find it on either site) hasn’t gotten back to me. It’s gotta be fake, right?

Did anyone else just put on Hall & Oates’ “Sara Smile”?

Seriously? That is so fake. Christopher, go to bed!

Obviously photoshopped. I mean, you know her breasts are much bigger in real life, right.

Here on SLOG it was revealed in a link to Snopes that it was a fake (along with the BB gun toting image).

Yeah, the neckline, I'm punchy, sorry. OR IS SHE A DOLL WITH A TWISTABLE HEAD?

Do you really need fucking snopes to tell you this is fake? I could do better with a photocopier and a pocketknife. Jesus I need to stop putting any faith at all in the technological knowledge of normal people.

The shadow and the picture do no match. Notice the hair on the shoulder and the shouler in the shadow.

John Bailo wishes his photoshop skills were even this good.

I also kinda wish we'd stop proving the Right right about how we're treating Palin. Not an ECB fan, but I wish she'd drop a female supremacist smackdown right about now.

And notice how her shoulder's shadow behaves as though the wall and cupboards are a perfectly flat backdrop a couple of inches behind her?

I'd still push her around the room like a wheel barrow.

nice stems. But yeah, totally fake.

I like the photocopier & knife comment. Very clever.

I want to tell you about the McCain Deal.

It's a good deal, it's fair and every American should like it.

3 square meals a day.

Dry clothing.

A bed that's sanitized.

That's the McCain deal...it's square, it's good and I think that it's swell.

Chris - Please take this down. It's junk like this that just give right-wing nut jobs the ammunition about the "angry left". We're better than this. And there are plenty of legitimate stories to run about Palin's record and viewpoints. SHE TRIED TO BAN BOOKS for fuck's sake!

#15: Such as this:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/02/palins-church-may-have-sh_n_123205.html

Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin's foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

This is totally not credible.

The one with the gun where she is wearing the red-white-and-blue bikini is more believable and way hotter.

You've definitely reached sexist attack level here...

Here's an incredibly good Photoshopped picture of Sarah Palin.

http://galleries.wickedweasel.com/models/brooke_e/default.asp?popup=3

Note how they cleverly disguised both her face AND body!

Here's another of her jogging to work:

http://www.owlman.com/Images/Process/RawStone.jpg

Note the clever use of Photoshop to erase all telltale "seams" between the images...and also the complete absence of relevant imagery. Brilliant!

Those Angry Lefties will stop at nothing!

Obviously fake, and kind of a waste of space to post it on Slog. Seriously.

Fake. the shadows made by the flash are off from the subject. right sholder and right side of the hair crown cast deep shadows on the cabinets. The long hair on the right side of the neck, which is in the same plane as the sholder and crown, is not casting a shadow. The orginal photo had had a model-subject with short hair.

Posted by Phenics | September 5, 2008 7:44 AM

Actually, I think the shadow is one of the real elements of the picture... the camera flash causes weird shadows, and why photoshop the body onto the background? The only part Photoshopped on is the head, and the dead giveaway is the hair on the left (our right) side of her head. The edge doesn't blend with the background.

1. It's fake. She would obviously be wearing contacts with an outfit like that, but all the available pics of her show her with glasses.

2. It's sexist. Please take it down. It makes you look like an asshole for even posting it.

I'm disappointed to see The Stranger indulge in misogynistic shenanigans. The fact that she's a right wing tool does not justify this kind of ugliness. For fuck's sake, remove it....and yes, it's patently fake.

Who cares if this is fake or not? That doesn't change the fact that Sarah Palin is an empirically beautiful woman. The fact that she's a book-banning, anti-woman, inexperienced and corupt politician is far more important. No one cares what Cheney's stems look like, we all know he's a corupt politician. This picture has nothing to do with the incompetent nut-job she is.

@33 ... this comment about Mrs Palin's 'inexperience' is, I trust, not coming from a supporter of Mr. Obama, the freshman Senator.

Posted by Seajay | September 5, 2008 9:16 AM
35

@34: It probably is.

Remember these words from Obama's acceptance speech: TEMPERMENT & JUDGEMENT. McCain & Palin have neither. Obama has both.

Experience is irrelevant. Bush the Younger had 8 years of "executive" experience.

Oh, to hell with shadows and hair--the dead giveaway, the thing that should be observed first and foremost, is that her head appears to be about twice the size it should be.

Doll with a twistable head is right. If you just focus on where the neck meets the jawline, it looks fucking freaky.

There's something wrong with the chest too. it looks like whoever did this 'shopped out whatever bra or shirt was worn under the blouse in order to create the side-boob shot. It makes her look like her chest was molded out of Silly Putty.

And come on--I could believe Palin might dress desperately "sexy" like that for a special night out, and the hair is appropriately awful, but you know Palin would never actually wear those stripper-heels.
