Not very organized...

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/30/us/politics/30obama.html?pagewanted=print

After about a year, he was hired by the New York Public Interest Research Group, a nonprofit organization that promotes consumer, environmental and government reform. He became a full-time organizer at City College in Harlem, paid slightly less than $10,000 a year to mobilize student volunteers.

Mr. Obama says he spent three months “trying to convince minority students at City College about the importance of recycling” — a description that surprised some former colleagues. They said that more “bread-and-butter issues” like mass transit, higher education, tuition and financial aid were more likely the emphasis at City College.

Dems...there's still time to boot Biden and put a hot chick on your ticket, too:

I saw on CNN today that they had area high school kids blow up those balloons with their mouths because helium wouldn't fall. There's way too many sex education jokes here.

Oh Johnny, don't worry. After that evening with the male version of Aunt Clara, Obama will be back on top again.

Possess you soul with Christian Patience, dear....

I love the part where he said "teach an adjurh?....teach an illiterate adult to read."

And notice how he said "comfort the afflicted" but left out "and afflict the comfortable?"

It also seemed like the crowd was so zoned they almost forgot the gratuitous standing ovation salute to his POW story.

Underwhelming. Even Bush has better delivery.

This was the funniest/most painful live blog ever.

I loved it.

John Bailo, how many interviews has Palin done in the past 5 days?

@10 - I think she had a press conference today where she read a letter about how Obama & Biden's people were saying mean things about her. Then she refused to take questions from reporters. Does that count?

The talking guy in glasses on MSNBC is not liking it.

So THAT's the difference between an Orator and a Statesman!

It was so good it was SUBSTANCE abuse.

Several of my comments didn't show up on the live slog. Was this live slog censored or monitored? I think I said fuck in my second post. I didn't cuss after that. My last three or four comments never showed up. My first one did, when I posted under "mickey." Since only one of my mickey posts showed up i switched names thinking it would help me get through.

I never was able to and that really disappointed me. It was my first live slog.

Live slogging is a giant step backward.

This was hilarious! I read the whole damn thing. Thanks, guys.

P.S.: Heard a Republican pundit misspeak the other day and call her "Sarah Failin."

Fellow Sloggers,

Didn't want to say it, but I will....I saw John Bailo fellating a Catholic priest behind the Sizzler in Kent. He had a shit-eating grin on his face the whole time.

Now let that be the last mention of this Bailo fella on Slog.....

Melty, Chris & the LiveSlog crew were moderating the comments before they could get posted, and they could only green light so many posts per second. Same thing happened to me, and I had some objectively hilarious, Seinfeld-level observationisms.

Melty, it was moderated. And I submitted well over 40 comments (no exaggeration) and they published a handful. Thems the breaks kid.

You're confusing (deliberately, I assume) his Chicago years and his New York years. The article is actually not very hard on Obama.

That's too bad, but I understand. I bet they were quite busy. I wasn't smart and funny enough. :(

the funniest part was when his mother cut in and said "He's a mama's boy!" was that for real??

Seriously, the most exciting part of his speech was when I decided to do the dishes, in my underwear.

@24,

He had a shit-eating grin on his face while he was performing fellatio? That takes talent. Or was the priest the one smiling?

Put your money where your mouth is, Obama supporters, take some time off (if you can, that is) and go to Montana or make calls to Pennsylvania after work...if these people win - and don't think they cant! - this country is doomed.

And a blow job is a blow job and all the other names come from people who should be giving or getting one - misses prisses you sound silly

And, to chill all the queers here, I bet Sarah gives about the best head in Alaska
