You Don’t Love The Dark Knight as Much as This Guy Loves The Dark Knight

posted by on August 20 at 11:12 AM

Big Dumb Object links to this website where a guy reports on his progress in building a Batmobile from scratch in his garage:

homemobile.jpgI did this alone, no help. I have found with other things in the past that if you have help, the help often does not get it(parts) right, and you have to do it over 95% of the time, plus I like to work alone. All parts are scratch built, cept’ tires, rims, brakes, engine, etc.. meaning all bodyparts, brackets, just about everything external on the car. Yes, I will do a batpod, and TDK suit for myself. I love building this stuff.

Total geek cred.

I'd much rather have the BatMobile from the 60's tv-series - way cooler. Or how about the Munster's mobile!

(oops, my age is showing.)

Oh noes, someone spent time doing something constructive instead of being a hipster jackass! What a dork!

Not nearly as cool as having Jack Benny's Stutz Bearcat!

@3: Show me any snarky comment on this post that's not written by you, please, and then tell me who the hipster jackass is.

I love Batman as much as the next geek. Probably more. But still.

@2:

The "Black Beauty" from "The Green Hornet" was waaaaay cooler.

@3, by what stretch of the imagination is what this guy is doing productive?

@7: Preemptively diffusing the snark was my original goal. I guess it worked. :)

There's a guy in Australia who built his own full-function 747 cockpit simulator.
