The bag ladies will just have to start migrating south for the winter.

I assume you mean "south to Tukwila".

Is that a joke?

Yes, Tukwila is a reference to sexual relations, @3.

It's from an old Almost Live joke that became common knowledge, more than a decade ago.

@4, I think #3 was referring to the post.

I think it is very telling that chemical industry interests are behind most of the anti-ban movement. Sure there are plenty of people who don't like it but they are mostly just bloviating and not putting up the money. Even small moves to limit polluting materials threaten the industry because they are afraid they will lose market share and money as people become more aware of the incredible pollution related to packaging alone.

EEEE--oOOOO--EEEE---OOooOO

Call Dan Savage's whaaaambulance. Maybe we can use all the extra plastic bags to choke pitbulls and other dog breeds he finds unacceptable.

Two birds with one stone!

Huh. I definitely misread that as "Think of the Big Ladies!" and thought Dan was in trouble with the fatosphere again. I was confused when his blurb didn't end with "The plastic bags must have done something to provoke them."
