What are they marching for Chuck? What are they protesting? posting riddles about a building made out of cheese or Natalie Merchants boobs is fine, but if it's something news worthy maybe you should actually go a little deeper.

Charles Mudede's job is being Charles Mudede. Any old intern can post links to the news on a blog.

I never bother to comment on these posts, but is it really so hard to be coherent? Is it really beyond this guy just to communicate something? Not entertaining, not interesting, not reporting -- not anything. As usual.

I'm waiting for Fnarf to weigh in before I decide if these guys are an embarrassment and a hindrance to Legitimate Progress or if they are the first valid street protest in the last forty years. They certainly are dressed nicely! But on the other hand they're breaking the law and causing trouble by venturing out of the designated First Amendment Zones. So it's kind of a toss-up.

He's reporting from the field, people; information takes time to come by when one is gathering it from the source. Give him a break.

@8 -

Cops outnumbering caged protesters = Lame

Protesters being organized enough to surprise the cops with their numbers and march wherever they damn well please = Inspiring and Very Successful

@5 I disagree in this case. This deserved at least a sentence about what the march is about.

And @9 bullshit, how much more time would it have taken to add one sentence "the marchers are demanding an end to the Iraq war." Even that brief sentence would have been something.

Regardless the point has been rendered moot by the magic of the Internet, the post now contains more information.

Besides being intimidated by the large mass of people involved in the march, the potential embarassing spectacle of beating and cuffing heroes in uniform would be enought to restrain the cops.

Now that these fine men and women have ended the Iraq War, what are they doing for an encore?

Just so they do this to the Republicans, too.

@13: Now, don't be modest. The members of the illustrious Internet Opinion Dispersal Corps helped in that regard too. You can all be very proud.

So, are they ready for the Backdoor Draft to ship them to die in the Ukraine and Georgia?

Cause if they vote for McCain that's what they're getting.

Weren't you also smugly laughing at the low amount of protesters just a day ago?

Huh huh.

If anyone is interested, the term "Freedom Cage" is from a hilarious Strangers With Candy (Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert) episode called Is Freedom Free? from season two

wish I could find a clip

@16 - President McCain (and, for that matter, President Obama) will do two things in Ukraine and Georgia:

Jack and Shit

Mudede-haters: Ever filling a much-needed void.

Meanwhile, for Charles and his army, I bring good tidings for those who will be (back) in Seattle on September 8: That's the date when Slavoj Žižek will speak in Seattle.

Now we're getting somewhere, no?

Everyone who protests is now labelled a "lefty liberal" no matter who they are, or what they are fighting for. Protest against the agenda of the central bankers, and your reputation is destroyed. But who is watching over the central bankers? Shouldn't that be you and me? Total power and control without checks and balances is surely corrupt. Such is human nature. And corruption without checks and balances grows till one day it turns everyone into a disposable slave, no matter who they are.
