Kind of thin morning news posts, Jonah. Just six items?
Captain N, THE GAME MASTER!
Captain N--those were heady times.
It always bugged me, though, that the kid playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out was doing such a crap job against King Hippo. Video game expert, my ass.
I am strong!
I am invincible!
I am SULK!
And no, I don't feel like letting it go.
Of course, there are benefits to more waterways opening up in the Arctic: shipping, increased tourism for local communities, and easier and more precise oil drilling.
Can we just cull the fucking polar bears and be done with it? I want a fucking polar bear coat and polar bear rug. Polar bear!
Okay, I'm gonna sound like the total Old Geezer I Am here, but I think in this one particular case, it's completely justified.
THESE CARTOON SUCK ASS!
We had much BETTER cartoons when I was a kid: all the Jay Ward stuff, Looney Tunes, Jonny Quest, The early Gerry Anderson "supermarionation" stuff, "The Jetsons", the early Marvel Comics shows (NOT the execreble shorts), the original Space Ghost, etc., etc.
Sure, we had our share of crap too, which included anything by Sid & Marty Krofft IMO (I'll make a begrudging exception for "The Banana Splits"), and we certainly weren't immune to corporate shilling ("Linus The Lionhearted" featuring all the characters from the Post cereal stable comes most immediately to mind), but over all, the quality of the animation was far superior to this drek, the shows actually employed HUMOR, and frankly, worked on a level so that even early-rising teens and adults could enjoy some of the 'toons as much as us kids.
So there. Now git off'n my lawn!
Comte is so right. When I see people go all goo goo of shit crap animation (i.e. anime) I want to go all Fnarf on their ass. Have you no TASTE?
Sea ice is already afloat so it's melting doesn't affect sea levels. So no need for an ark, barque, or kayak.
Jeez, that LPGA story came out days ago...not that I read Slog for breaking news...just saying...
See my vest! See my vest!
Made from REAL gorilla chest!
increased tourism for local communities
Right, except for those local communities that will be decimated by melting permafrost or the sea level change or both.
