The Morning News

posted by on August 21 at 8:21 AM

Pulling Out Doesn’t Work: Despite pledging to remove troops from Georgia by Friday, Russian forces show no signs of leaving.

Ironically Enough…: United States and Iraqi negotiators draft agreement regarding how long American troops will stay in Iraq.

Understandable: John McCain admits uncertainty over just how many houses he and his wife own.

The Getaway: Highline resident witnesses crime, escapes gunfire of criminals via high-speed unicycle ride.

Inquiry Begins: 153 dead in disastrous accident during takeoff of SpanAir flight from Madrid airport.

Energetic Planning: Seattle City Light rolls out plan to double the city’s energy conservation over the next five years.

RIP: Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio dies at age 58.

Baseball Town: Despite having a team that’s not particularly good at it, Seattle fans make the Mariners the sixth best attended club in baseball.

And because you’ll almost certainly be bombarded today with news of a Vice Presidential nature, we will skip that part of the morning news and instead focus on this gentleman, who is walking on his hands in a competitive setting:

Neat.

Are we sure Obama will even announce his pic today? I mean at this point who cares?

Sixth best? It's all those fairweather fans ... and all the bad weather we've been having lately.

I think McCain's comment about not knowing how many houses he has has just pushed the VP announcement into tomorrow, if not Saturday morning.

There's no way the Obama Campaign would want to risk pushing that gaffe off the television by making its VP announcement.

I visited Seattle last fall and went to a M's game. That is one heck of a park. It was cold and we left our seats around the 4th inning, but just had a lovely time walking around, seeing the place. With a park like that you don't need to win to get people to buy a ticket. This coming from a Cub fan!

Seattle has a lot of casual baseball fans with plenty of disposable income... plus most tickets are affordable.

Russia to NATO: Ooh baby, just a little more, it's so good ... AHHH.

NATO to Russia: You jerk! You said you wouldn't come in me!

Russia to NATO: Yeah. I lied. Now roll over and I'll do it to you McCain style.

Fola Fola, Jr? Because when you have as fantastic a name as "Fola Fola," why wouldn't you want to name your kid that?

Are you sure I'm dead?

Maybe I'm just taking a little nap, like my older lover John McCain used to do back when we did it in the Senate Cloakroom when I visited him.

I know we were cheating on his wives, but it was fun!
