Nickles? Who or what is Nickles? There are no prominent people in Seattle named Nickles.

It's just more inane Tourette's rubbish, like #5, BOB. They're probably prolonging the agony by deleting it.

Not that I find this guy at all profound, but a pretty compelling piece today by CNN's Jack Cafferty, Commentary: Is McCain Another George W. Bush? Regarding the Rick Warren forum:

One after another, McCain's answers were shallow, simplistic, and trite. He showed the same intellectual curiosity that George Bush has -- virtually none.

@7: I wrote an essay with the same title. I will re-print it here in its entirety for a Slog exclusive.

Yes. Yes, he is.

uh...your link to King County Elections is screwy. the correct page for KCE is:

http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections/

(and yes, the "polling places" link on that page is currently down - i've alerted our IT people about it and hopefully it will be back up and running soon)

FWIW - if your polling location is HAMILTON MIDDLE SCHOOL (in wallingford) you need to go to the location where it is temporarily housed, the old lincoln high school, entering on WOODLAWN near 44th.

If we're going to continue removing posts, why can't we do the same to clintonsarmy's cut and paste posts? Are they really on topic if it's the same thing time and again?

AC 360, Gergen:

"McCain is now on a sustained roll in his campaign. Since the time he shook up his organization a few weeks ago, he has been much more focused and has started to get through to voters. Democrats — and the press — didn’t like the quality of those ads, but they seem to have worked politically. His stand on drilling and on Russia have also strengthened his aura of command. And now Saddleback.

That’s quite a run and it is reflected in the polls: not only have the national numbers tightened up but McCain has actually moved ahead (slightly) in three key battleground states: Ohio, Virginia and Colorado.

A web site that averages all significant polls, RealClearPolitics.com, has previously projected that just looking at polls, Obama was ahead in states with over 300 electoral votes; now he is down to 275 — a tiny cushion since 270 is the magical number for winning."

You heard it here first.

(NB: I recently said you need 271 to win, that was erroneous, it's 270.)

Relevance to VP choice?

WTF with play it safe BBK choices?

And btw: BBK shows voting for Iraq war no longer a disqualifier, in Obama's view.

I still have the screenplay that Terry Gilliam was going to use to make the Watchmen back in the late 80s. Download the trailer now. Watchmen could go the way of the Fantastic Four movie that never came out.
