How often does Phelps wear the LZR Racer? Why isn't the LZR a controversy anymore?
Ugh. This fucking Obama Nation book is all sorts of shitty.
Speaking of news… anyone else hear the gunshots in the CD at 1:00 a.m.? They were right outside my house (around MLK and Marion) and I spent the better part of the wee hours watching the cops circle the block. Didn't look like they found anything/one.
US gymnasts = sore losers.
My impression was that the Country of Georgia isn't exactly very gay friendly so I had not cared much about the attacks at first. But on 2nd thought Russia is probably as bad or even worse. Any thoughts on the gay issues in Georgia vs. Russia? I know Moscow's record is terrible and with more millionaires than any city in the world it makes angry to say the least.
You missed the biggest story of the day: the BK Bather.
@3 - sorry, I was hunting with some teens. It's part of the Rossi taxpayer-subsidized hunting program.
We only killed some deer and antelopes. I don't think we got anybody else ... unless that wasn't a bear ...
WTF? Someone at work told me that Rossi was 8 points ahead of Gregiore for the election?!?!?!?!?
Can someone verify this?
Marrying for the insurance?
Darn, it's so too bad I'm gay, or I could get married, and my partner of 15 years (an uninsured full-time student) could get health coverage on my plan.
But that would defile the sanctity of marriage, wouldn't it, and I'm a wicked, wicked person even to think of it.
Tolling both bridges is the way to go. Here's the chain of logic:
1. 520 needs to be replaced, and any replacement is going to be expensive.
2. No state income tax.
3. Sales tax is closed to maxed out.
4. State voters will rebel if they're asked to pay too much extra gas tax for a Seattle bridge they never use.
5. Taxing only 520 means that the individual toll is so high that too many people will drive the extra miles to use I-90. This means I-90 drivers end up paying the cost in congestion for a bridge they don't use.
6. Having a region-wide highway tolling system might make sense in the long run, and would result in low per-trip tolls, but all of the non-bridge drivers would have a huge conniption fit about subsidizing the lake commute.
7. That leaves one option, tolling both bridges, starting right away, to bring down the per-trip toll to a reasonable level and discourage drive-arounds, while still raising all the necessary revenue to build a replacement bridge.
Anyone who whines about it needs to come up with an alternate plan that is actually politically and fiscally viable. There isn't one.
@8 - yes, he's eight points ahead among teen hunters aged 13-17.
Sadly, they can't vote.
