delusional hillary backers should be shot beside roadside ditches that theyve been forced to dig at gun point.

I was thinking they could be forced to actually read everything un/PC has ever posted on the slog. But if we did that to anyone, no matter how deserving, we'd be no better than beasts, wouldn't we?

Bush lecturing the Chinese. What a joke. This at a time when he's hoding kangaroo courts to put away servants for life. And slamming them for not allowing religious freedom is wrong as well. Christians want to get in that country to skim their take of the money. The Chinese are wise to keep them out.

Bellevue Ave, sorry, but those delusional Hillary backers Newsday is reporting on? These people don't actually exist; they only exist in the febrile imagination of Maureen Dowd. How do I know this? Because Erica C. Barnett told me so.

Anyway, regarding the presidential campaign still going on in reality, great cartoon today by the inimitable David Horsey.

yes like how we should have national health insurance and free college for everyone and bring about real change by ensuring election of Obama plus 60 D senators and reforming the senate.

How to do this we should not adulate nor scorn too much but be realistic. Thanks @2, very wise!

In the vein of realism and trying to win the election, instead of engaging in petty niter-tribal warfare to satisfy one's weak ego identity, Slog readers whould wonder why Slog isn't covering these stories:
-Suskind book re forged document by Bush regime; the need for impeachment.
-the ongoing energy battles b/ McC. and Obama which apparently McCain is winning on right now. That sure sucks.
--the overall inertia of this race what with Obama holding tiny lead nationally and having a history of doing worse on election day -- gee is this something we should ignore? or confront and fucking deal with? by running a better campaign and making other moves?

here is a short list:
he needs to whack whack whack on the economy he started in his energy speech but he's losing ground this week.
--he needs to tell the McCain story of the flyboy with speical privileges who dumped his wife cruelly and married for money and now represents the privileged and corporate interests who will wrck our country and security and planet with their traitorous and un American policies

ie yes he needs to hit harder

-yes pick HRC for VP she is the only one who gives him a 3-7 point bump in the polls. To not do this is hubristic complacency driven by ego. His and his supporters'.

--do more grass roots for example where are the weekend crives to get all us here on Cap Hill going to NV and MT to register voters and get out the vote?

Oh btw no one is talking about Birch Evans Bayh III and how picking a legacy dynasty dude from IN would totally under cut the change message.

Unity elenchos! Onward and upward to victory! I am sure you agree with me we don't just want Obama to win we want him to win big, big, big and get 60 D senators or more!

Oh in addition to my tactical ideas I'm very supportive of anyone elses. So Mr. elenchos if you have any constructive ideas about how to ensure Obama wins big and even bigger, do share! Oh btw running down folks who support OBama cuz they didn['t support him early enough is just so Temudgin. The submit-and-adore-or-be-conquered approach to coaliation building is just so 12th century, but this tactic really hasn't been used so much lately. It's more like you have to build coalitions with people and voter you disagree with on little things, to reach an overarching bigger goal. did you know that?
For example, initial Obama supporters should be figuring out how do we get the votes and energetic support of the folks with mullets, the fat people who love pit bulls in the middle of America, and the people who live in "Hooterville trailer parks" instead of being such fucking arrogant coastal elite hipster snobs about them. This just in: not every voter is as liberal as Slog readers, but we need lots of them to get that electoral college vicotry and do even better and get 60 senators and such.

Also: talking about this shit ain't bestial. What is bestial is the lemming like approach to simply adulate Him, and heap scorn on anyone who says things like "hey gee folks a half point lead in OH or a one point lead in VA. ain't really comforting at this point, let's do better!"

Capiche?

love and unity,

anotehr story ignored here is the Edwards adultery/paternity thing. Fowler is saying Edwards won't even speak at the convention till he totally denies it all. Given that we here at Slog really liked Edwards a lot, or many readers did, it's kind of funny how there is no reporting on this. A former VP candidate is going to be denied a speaking role at the convention is a story.

Also: they're all human/let's respect that/they should have not so much adulation and not so much scorn = continuing theme. I stand by it.

If they want cities to build their own jails, then they should let cities determine what is a jailable offense. Low level drug possession could be equated to a traffic ticket. $25 fine, payable by check to the city clerk. Howzat?

"Delusional Hillary backers plan to march through Denver during the Democratic national Convention to demand her delegates are counted and win the nomination!"

Will ECB be joining them? Last I head she felt that Obama was an evil misogynist pig determined to oppress women at all costs.

P to the J for the insightful win @9.

"demand her delegates are counted and win the nomination"

Didn't Clinton lose even with the full MI/FL delegates?

"'Barack Obama was selected, not elected,' she has written in letters to hundreds of Democratic convention delegates on behalf of Clinton."

ugh. if you really want to overthrow his nomination, the absolute least you can do is come up with a catchy new tag line, rather than recycling a tired cliche from the 2000 election. preferably one that actually makes sense.

@13,

Yes.

These Hillary supporters will soon realize the indignity of waging a protest where only 20 people show up.

I have now come to despise Hillary Clinton and all her supporters. If John McCain is elected we can lay the blame on their doorstep.

Bush "chiding" China's human rights record... only to show up for the Olympics opening celebration - sets a new standard for our nations' leader's inability to lead by appropriate example.

Here's who really inspired Nadia's triumph... she shoulda got the 10 first.
