But, is there a Bill Bradley effect?

Don't assume the vote will turn out ok - make sure everyone you know in Cali votes and PERSONALLY ask them to vote the way you'd like.

It's a lot harder to discriminate when there's a face attached to it.

If God's really on the mark, he'll hit Bush with that hurricane when he's in NO, and blow his sorry ass out into the Caribbean.

Maybe the Hurricane will travel all the way up the Mississippi and arrive in Minneapolis on Monday...

That hurrycane is hitting N.O. again because they let the gays move back into the city and hold that blasted gay pride parade again. Pat Robertson went and told God that he needed to try to smite them again since he obviously didn't do it very well the first time.

Or maybe this is God's sense of humor in response to those nuts praying on TeeVee for it to rain and hail in Mile High Stadium during the anti-christ's speech tonight?

Nope, @4, you got it wrong. God is taking out New Orleans and not California because the evil Louisiana fags are all unmarried and living in sin. The God-fearing California fags are getting married as He intended, and thus avoiding His just wrath.

The impending destruction of New Orleans is absolute proof the Jesus loves gay marraige.

Should we take the fact that these hurricanes will hit during the Republican National Convention as proof that God hates Republicans?

I mean, did it rain in Denver?

@3 - The RNC is in St. Paul.

FYI to anyone who cares: The Twin Cities are TWO separate cities. Minneapolis and St. Paul are not one and the same.

That being said, why, oh why, does the RNC have to be here, in a blue state? And oh, dear god, why, does it have to be less than a mile from my house? I can't wait to see all the loonies...

Why did Fay strike Florida a record 4 times?

Did I read the article wrong? It said 54% of people are planning to vote against the proposition, which doesn't sound like an overwhelming majority to me. Then the quote says they expect people to again be in favor of defining marriage as only between a man and a woman.

Romans 1 says very clearly that homosexuality (including lesbianism) ARE THEMSELVES part of the wrath of God-along with being disobedient to your parents, gossips, slanderers, deceivers, inventors of evil, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless (pardon the lack of parallelism).

God gives people over to their sin, to let them engage in all sorts of wickedness BECAUSE they don't acknowledge him as God and they've rejected Jesus, the very icon of God. That's really what God cares about, not who you're sleeping with.

Anyways, point is:
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
Romans 2:1 ESV

In other words, "Christians" who say God is punishing people for their gayness are idiots who don't read their bible well.

I don't think this is about the voters in California.

Gay marriage will be used as a get-out-the-vote device in swing states like Ohio. There will be ballot initiatives to ban not recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. All the eyes and evergy are on California; no one is paying attention the small places like southern Ohio.

@7: You know, I realized while I was writing it that it could be in St. Paul, but I assumed no self-respecting Republican would go on that side of the river. Oh well.

Storm Gustav's timing is definitely not what the Republicans want, that's for sure.

He's trying his best to hit St. Paul, but there are all those other states in the way.

No, no, no, Dan, you've got it wrong! God's not hurling the hurricanes at New Orleans because of gays. He's doing it as an omen against John McCain. Today, August 29th, is not only the 3 year anniversary of Katrina, but also McCain's birthday.
It can't be a coincidence that 2 hurricanes are threatening New Orleans again, 3 years later, on McCain's birthday...right before the RNC starts...right before the election.
Even God doesn't want us to vote for this guy! That oughta tell you something!

Sounds like a lot of anger toward McCain, Republicans and the God of Christians... BUT I understand. Gays suffer but so do non-gays. Christians suffer but so do non-Christians. It's always been a part of life on a fallen earth. But true Christians might spend more time reading the WORD of GOD and less time telling GAYS and non-Christians that GOD hates them! True Christians know how much the LORD LOVES all THOSE He has created... whether they are gays, murderers, thiefs, liars, adulterers, blasphemers, abortionists, Christians or non-Christians, and etc.! God loves "every person" He has created in His own image. Yes, Sin is sin and God hates sin. BUT...we "all" have been mixed with the nature of sin. So, it's not fair to stress one particular sin only. The sin in the "act" of homosexuality which brings dishonor to our bodies is no different than any other sin which will bring death and sorrow, at the judgement seat of Christ, if unforgiven. I believe it is the sin of not wanting to know the love of our LORD and not having the love and forgiveness of God, toward every other human, that is the saddest and the most hopeless of all sins. The saying "God is LOVE" is not just an old childish slogan. Our God is filled with a perfect love and forgiveness toward ALL of His creation. And, although God warns us, He has reserved His wrath for all sinners, He, has also, offered us all a way out of that punishment through His Son Jesus, when we accept Him as our Savior..("for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"). JESUS CHRIST layed down His life for "all people" and for "every sin". The God of the true Christians continues to offer to all people His love and His forgiveness for their sins in much the same way He wills for His followers to offer their love and forgiveness to all persons. May love fill your hearts for the knowledge of the God of all love until that last day when His return to Earth will bring each one of us one to our final destination of love's reward or hate's wrath.
