This isn't about who individually won primaries.
This is about:
1) who will be a better VP;
2) who will help Obama get elected;
3) who will be the better advisor;
4) who is ready to be president if something were to happen to Obama.

I don't think that Clinton is the best choice (see conditions 1 and 2), I do think that Biden and Richardson would be great though.

Green? Renewable? Laughable. Energy secretary in a pro-business administration, sat on the boards of two large energy companies, selling his holding just last year. My favorite, although not energy-related, worked for Henry Kissinger as a lobbyist.

it's comforting to know that a lot of sloggers (the ones with taste, of course) share my mutual affection for Bill Richardson. i'd love to see him shore up the democratic party, solidify a national hispanic vote, pick up some of the southwestern red squiggly bits and re-hash his excellent foreign policy cred.

@ 40 - yes it is misogynistic. Hillary is very intelligent and has held her own through being in the public eye and being constantly and venomously attacked by the extreme right. So what if she has a politically successful husband? She has every right and ability to have her own career. I am a "real feminist" as you put it, and Hillary is a feminist icon to me. Hillary and Bill are an example of an old school marriage in transition to a new school marriage so to speak. And you don't know shit about their sex life. All we can tell is how supportive they have been for eachother. I am extremely impressed at how hard Bill campaigned for Hillary. They seem to be equals with an enormous amount of faith and respect in eachother's professional abilities. How many boomer marriages demonstrate that? Hillary is courageous and broke down a lot of barriers running for president as a middle-aged woman. I am so proud of her.

That said, Obama is also a great man and here's to hoping he wins!!!!!

I would say Richardson is needed to bring in the Hispanic vote. However, could he be held in contempt for running with an African American by the Hispanic population ? The next choice would be whoever is from the state with the most electoral votes. New Mexico doesn't have very many. Whoever is most qualified to step in for the president is not even part of the equation.
