I haven't forgotten. I'm just not looking forward to two hours on the bus tomorrow.

Two hours? That's dedication. Hopefully you'll score a good read for the trip home...

You don't need 2 hours, just get off the bus downtown and walk the 6 blocks. =)

get off at convention center or nearest bus stop. Then walk up Boren. Fo realz.

I'll just have driven five hours with brother and nephew, so will desperately need booze. But first I will ride my borrowed mountain bike (thanks, Tim!) down the hill and back up, to work up a righteous thirst.

I am now tempted to come to the Hideout (isn't this the place that Schmader reluctantly revealed as his favorite watering hole?) and meet Chicago Fan who may be able to explain (to me at least) the differences between the Cubs and the White Sox - the rivalry, the historicity, the sorrow and the pity, the pride and the prejudice.

Chicago Fan is a tempting draw all right -- I would fully expect and deserve to be punched in the nose -- but alas I will not be attending.

I'm not going unless the venue is monster-friendly.

@4: I appreciate the help, but my riding time is two hours total, most of it spent in the morning getting me from my apartment in the hinterlands down to my office. After work I can just grab the 49 to get to the Hideout, and from there I'll be relying on my wife to haul my drunk ass home in her car.

And by the 49 I mean the 60. Oops.

Depends on how I'm feeling. Got a nasty head-cold for my birthday and still trying to clear it out. :(

@12: And that's what happens when you go down on a guy with the sniffles.

If Fnarf isn't going, I'm not going.

I will be riding the bus for an hour and a half to get there, it doesn't sound nearly as epic as Greg's journey. But, I'm an uptight privileged Eastside bitch, so my bus journeys are usually something akin to Paris Hilton's Simple Life minus the overalls and the yappy dog.

Looking forward to seeing most of you again, though I'm sad Fnarf won't be there.

I was hoping you'd stop being reclusive, Poe.

You eastsiders don't make any goddamn sense. The 550, which I ride every fucking morning, takes a whopping 30 minutes. How the hell does your other bus take you an hour? Do you live in Everett? No. That still wouldn't take an hour.

OK, OK, Mr. Poe, you caught me, my ass isn't actually in the seat on the bus for the full hour and a half. It takes me an hour and a half in total travel time from the minute I leave the door of my house to the time I get to the Slog happy destination, figuring in 2-3 bus rides, wait time, and walking on either end.

But, to see you, I'd ride a bus for hours and hours, that's just how much I love you.

Well I'll be there. Hopefully the Jew will too. Mwah!

Fabulous! It will be a proper event, then.

I could sit next door at the Thai place with the wife and the little highball maker. Or I could ride my poor neglected ducky, but only be allowed one drink. Or I could leave the cute spawn and his mother at home and take the bus, and then drink and drink and drink. Responsibly.

@21: I take it you'll be at the McLeod Residence tomorrow, lamenting that no one understands your subtle art while drinking gin and tonic's? (the proper way of course, since you know best!)

Well I get you Mr. Hipster. I know daddy didn't love you, but it is ok. Just pull those bangs out of your eyes and let the tears flow. We are here for you.
