I think it would behoove the pro pot movement to have more people at the helm that didn't smoke pot.

The "hemp as resource" argument is so silly. Adults want to be able to get high, legally, from a plant...why do we have to pretend it's about anything else?

The industrial hemp argument is idiotic because that is something that could be legalized and put into production while also retaining the illegal status of marijuana (and also sabotaging the efforts of growing potent pot).

Rick Steves also has other interests besides pot advocacy and industrial hemp production. Sure he does it but he isn't defined by the fact he smokes pot or is an advocate for legalization.

It's true that hemp is a wonderful product with many uses and should be legal. And it is true that Medical Marijuana should be legal be cause of all its useful properties (I sure could use it for the pain I'm in. It works much better than the morphine I have to take every four hours.)

But in reality, I wish it were legal because I would rather get stoned than drunk.

Let me know when there is a "Pot for Recreation" rally and I will be there.

Yeah, at first glance of the Hempfest poster, I too thought of Obama's campaign logo. There certainly is a resemblance.

And yes, it should be legal. But most of the people who rally for decriminalization come off like NAMBLA guys asking for equal gay rights.

How about people going to prison? How about people losing their custody rights? If it is all just a smoke screen to puff nugs then why bring all of this industrial hemp infrastructure to the park?

No, it is too easy for those of you who don't come to Hempfest to live within your little (tobacco, latte and alcohol drenched) bubbles so you can continue to be ignorant about our true mission. Bellevue Ave., allow me to tackle that question. if there were thousands of people at Hempfest that had not bathed, would you suggest that Hempfest is ABOUT not bathing?

The whole reason we throw the fucking hempfest is to protest the laws. Could one not consider deliberately breaking the law at a political rally an act of civil disobedience? Just because it may be relatively pleasurable ya'll just cannot wrap your tine, freeze dried and shrunken skulls around the fact that Hempfest is the LARGEST and most SERIOUS and most SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE pot rally that ever was. You will not understand any of t hat however unless you peruse our website, read our program, listen to our speakers, witness the speaker panels, take in the girth and the magnitude of the energy present in the park. No, we will still be thrown against a wall of stereotypes, we will be relegated to the worn out and faded counter-culture references or worse yet, the Cheech-and-Chongification that we get. Have you noticed the $29 billion dollars of your money wasted on this foolishness? Have you seen the people whose lives have been destroyed by these insipid, criminal pot laws?
