2008 Regarding Obama’s VP Pick

onI don’t know who it’s going to be but isn’t going to be Joe “Neil Kinnock” Biden. That’s a smokescreen, and Biden is letting himself be used to distract people from whoever Obama is really talking to in exchange for, oh, Secretary of State or something he’s qualified to do and interested in doing.
And it isn’t going to be Bill “Pro Ball” Richardson either. Or Hillary.

He should definitely maybe pick Charlie Crist. I would support this. I could get behind that.
Thanks for letting us know Dan.
We love your uniformed reporting.
What will you do for us if you're wrong?
Biden btw isn't letting himself be used. He told the press this afternoon "I'm not the guy."
But don't let facts get in the way of your opinions masquerading as facts.
A lot of people have ruled out Tim Kaine, since it would be odd to have 2 governors of Virginia scheduled to headline two nights of the convention - so if Biden's just a smokescreen, it has to be Bayh, right?
Kathleen Sebelius?
If you're gonna bring up the Kinnock thing at least mention: "Though Biden had correctly credited the original author in all speeches but one, the one where he failed to make mention of the originator was caught on video."

If I'm wrong, I'll go for a bike ride.
Clark
Nice little fit Dan, now it's time for your nappy-po, after you finish your graham cracker and milk.
Feingold...Feingold....Feingold...Feingold!
Feingold...Feingold....Feingold...Feingold!
Feingold...Feingold....Feingold...Feingold!
Feingold...Feingold....Feingold...Feingold!
*The suddenly out of nowhere...Obama picks Senator Feingold, who would have thought?
;-)
If that's the case then it really has to be Bayh, which for blandness' sake makes sense. I love Sibelius, but I've come to agree that she may be too obscure.
But if Biden is just a smokescreen, that's demonstrating a tremendous acument for strategy that the campaign has yet to prove that it actually has.
Yeah, if it's not Biden then I'd guess Bayh.
Hm... graham crackers...
After Richardson's performance in the debates, when he looked like he would be unable to adequately explain why he should be allowed to go to the toilet, let alone run the country, I can't see him getting it. Obama needs a loud, forceful, insistent arguer, someone who can see bullshit coming and knock it back down the bullshit-flinger's throat.
Biden's got a lot better at that over the years.
And, you know, there are worse people to plagiarize than Neil Kinnock. Fucking McCain is just plain making his positions up as he goes along, and no one successfully calls him on it.
I think you're right. And my completely uninformed reporting says that it's going to be Hagel, which the media will ejaculate over in a orgasofrenzy of shock and awe.
I hope it's someone with more sense than he has.
"acumen", apologies.
Of course it isn't.
Governor Sibelius has it locked down.
Bloomberg. He has the jew power to fight off leiberman
I'm guessing Bayh. He's a nice bland republicrat that can work the Ohio Valley. They're hoping that he can skim enough votes from the 600 mile swath between Pittsburgh and St. Louis to prevent electoral disaster. Obama really needs help in the southern river valleys of the Midwest and the flat land-grant towns (like Indianapolis and Columbus). He's OK in the Great Lakes regions, but in those places in the orbit of Cincinnati - where they still like to name things after Reagan - he's got problems.
Kucinich.
Scarlett Johansson
I hope it's a surprise, but I can't figure out who would actually be a better electoral asset than the safe choices that are floating around.
I think Hagel would be an effective choice from an electability standpoint, but I don't want a pro-life conservative Republican waiting in the wings for something bad to happen to Obama. Bloomberg's too East Coast to qualify for a surprise Republican pick, and that exhausts the bipartisan choices.
I'd like a liberal like Feingold or Wexler or even Kucinich, but let's face it: that would be an electability negative.
I also like the idea of a moderate governor from a purple or red state, like Sebelius, but the problem with that is that few governors have national security experience and Obama needs that in his VP.
That leaves pretty much nobody. So it's got to be one of the safe choices, and of those choices, Biden is the best.
#7 is right. It will be Wesley Clark. He's a retired 4-star general and a moderate southern Democrat that isn't Bill Clinton.
CHARLIE CHONG IN 08!

And the theme for Wed. at the convention ("Securing America's Future") when the VP candidate will speak is named after Clark's PAC.
@26
Interesting!
Uh... Dan... You might still be right but, Olberman is almost calling it Biden.
I'm gonna have to go with Kathleen Sebelius FTW!
Dan,
It will be Sen. Evan Bayh. I thought he had to pick a white southern male like Sen. Jim Webb. But, he was ruled out. Indiana is pretty conservative like a Southern state.
Obama/Obama in 2008... I'd vote for Michelle any day of the week.
Everyone's arguing that it has to be Biden. Wouldn't it be interesting if it wasn't, though. Wouldn't Bill Bradley be interesting. I'm still mad about Bradley's loss to Gore in the 2000 primary.
Kudos to Obama for dragging it out in such exquisite detail.
Sure wish I knew how to do "this" and "this" like the pros, but click on the link for edification:
This is Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas.

This is Jean Sibelius, dead Finnish composer, best known for Finlandia - the national anthem - not the vodka.

Michael Moore sent out an email this afternoon suggesting Caroline Kennedy-whatever.
Not likely to happen - but sounds like a super idea...
Obama/Kennedy. Quite the bumper-sticker.
If its not Hillary; I'm writing her in for President (I know, a wasted vote, but at least its not going to McCain). If it IS Hillary as VP, I'll vote for Obama.
