Eh, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the preview copy SOMEONE left lying around the, um Hideout a few weeks ago.
I'm not really into fantasy, but so far, for the third (or is it eighth?) installment in what apparently is a long-running fantasy series - it's not bad. There are lots of references to past events, which obviously makes it somewhat confusing if you haven't read the preceding books, but otherwise, it's pretty straight-forward post-apocalyptic action adventure, but with elves and magic thrown in; sort of a mash-up of the two genres so far as I can tell.
I just wish they'd get back to the poor sap trapped inside the SAC base in the Colorado Rockies - he hasn't reappeared since the first chapter, but I know he's got to play some major role in the book at some point, otherwise, why introduce him at all?
Maybe he's playing chess.
The only good Terry Brooks novel was Wishsong of Shannarra.
I hope Caitlin cheers up before her reading tonight:

I don't know who comes out looking worse: Terry Brooks or Amazon user reviewers.
Is that a pun of gypsy moth?
