Good choice for reading.

I also recommend the recent book by Warren Buffet with a preface by Bill Gates on how America is a debtor economy for all but the ultra-rich under the Bush/McCain regime.

You're either part of the seven house owning ultra-rich top 0.1 percent doing well - or you're screwed in Bush/McCain's world.

So did this guy wring an entire book out of one bald-faced racist quote to the SF Chronic Ill, or is there a history of further racist statements by McCain?

Jesus Christ, this book is so great and important, and you can't even be bothered to give us it's TITLE AND AUTHOR? I suspect it's Gook: John McCain's Racism and Why It Matters by Irwin A Tang, but I'm not interested in watching the video to find out for sure (don't like videos).

You also can't check it out of the library because neither SPL nor KCLS hold a copy. Will = Fail once again.

Jesus christ. It's Sunday (fnarf, jtc--not like you guys have jobs during the week anyways), why can't you watch the first ten seconds of a fucking YouTube video? It's not a bad interview (save the weird-ass bass synths on the intro and outro). Quite quickly, it gives both the title of the book and the author's name.

And JTC, if "I might not like a book I read" tops the list of your worries, you're more self-centered than I can ever imagine. And did you even read the sentence you opened post 5 with (oh I'm sorry: "with which you opened post 5")? What the fuck is that?

It's a book recommendation, not a review. If you want more info, do some goddamn research on your own.

@7, My dear cornhole -- You twisted the meaning of my post. To be clear, I don't typically go to the library to chase down a book based on "it's fantastic." I watched the video, and though the author makes extensive, and justified, noise around the inappropriateness of the word "gook" (as well as a lot about its etymological history), it cites only one instance of McCain uttering a racist term -- that one or any one.

Rest assured, I've read many books about which I felt I might have no love...some have borne out my original sentiment and others have pleasantly surprised me.

The opening sentence @5 includes an extra "to." My apologies for the fact that errant preposition renders the sentence senseless in its entirety.

I like my book recommendations to come with a little more meat on the bone than "more people should know about this book." Why? Because it's exhaustively researched and levels a damning indictment, supported by numerous facts, of McCain's racism? I don't get that from the video or the comments.

Blow me, Jason. I could use some angry head.

Off topic: MSNBC just announced MI and FL will get full voting rights in the convention as per the wishes of the Obama team. Very high minded and principled to decide this -- now.
