I'm surebthatbwhile thing was vetted by o's team. It looks worse on paper than it sounds. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Will make for some great GOP bumperstickers though.

Jesus Christ, people. This is utter and complete nonsense. People are worried about how their names SOUND?

Those children at UW really shouldn't be so concerned about what they think the "average" American can stomach.

Obama/Biden '08!!!

"He's a good candidate, I agree with him on all the issues, but his name kinda sounds like Osama, so fuck him."

Absolutely NOBODY thinks this way. The people who cast doubt on Obama because of his name are Republicans looking for the cheapest of cheap shots.

@5 and @6, I don't know if you've noticed, but there are people in this world who are stupid and petty.

There's no place that makes it easier to be stupid and petty than the privacy of a voting booth.

Fortunately, I suspect that most of these people are already planning to vote for McCain.

Okay, time to offend you sensitive native Northwesterners. But only in the NW would folks think they sound phonetically the same. Stop being so scared.

It's not like people who give a shit about that kind of thing would ever vote for Obama anyway.

Now, who is this Osama Bin Laden person again? Is he the one who directed The Sixth Sense?

Dan, why are you acting like a troll? I think THAT's the real issue here.

I'm far more concerned about Biden's plagiarism issues, valid or not. By law school, he hadn't yet learned how to attribute a source? Talk about dirt.

Why didn't he pick someone with serious bipartisan credentials like Sebelius, or a higher-profile dude like Richardson?

jme, good question. i guess he thought he couldn't risk having a woman or hispanic on his already afro-american ticket. too shocking for the joe luchbuckets. he may be right.

A bit more googling shows that this litle joke has been making the rounds of conservative blogs for the past few weeks.
The person overheard at the dorm is probably a tool.
