Sales might actually push Obama into the "rich" tax bracket defined by McCain.
If you believe the joke of 5 million, you need to get a life.
O buma is going to take from producers and give to the Government, money to disperse.
And, after 6 trillion dollars, on the war on poverty, how has that worked?
"Rich" people, create jobs and wealth. Government, aka Obuma, takes it away.
Don't make me re-tell the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg story to the poor mentally challenged. And the mentally challenged believe that the Government produces wealth, and the people and Corporations don't.
But what if I want to buy a different book during those two weeks?
Robert, when I read your inspired words, all I can think in my head is "OMG SOCIALISM!!!!1!1!!!1!ELEVEN!!1!" You do realize that there can be a middle ground, yes?
I know that people with money create things and they make jobs and yadda yadda yadda. We all know this. But the current structure is all about privatizing profits while socializing losses, and that's not a good thing.
In addition, in order for the system to work properly, the people in the lower rungs have to be able to succeed and get into the upper rungs without having to lie/cheat/steal or be exceptionally lucky.
Also, if you may have noticed in the history of the world, when the income disparity between the rich and the poor is very high, revolution tends to happen.
So perhaps by evening out the playing field a bit and letting rich people suffer when they make bad decisions and cushioning the blow for the poor people because rich people made incredibly stupid shortsighted decisions that impact them, there won't be revolution and rich people can continue being rich and poor people can maybe get rich too.
A glorious thing, no?
Um, Obama already was rich.
The days of non-millionaires running for President are ... well, actually, I don't think we've had any that got the official party nom since WW II.
@6: ummm...Bill Clinton? He had piss-all before being elected.
Actually, upon further reflection. I'm damn sure McGovern wasn't a millionaire and would be quite surprised if either Eisenhower or Truman were.
We've had more than seven years of the government taking money from the middle class and giving it to the rich. What has that gotten us? An incredible fiscal crisis that could ravage all income levels in this (soon to be not) great country of ours. If you're voting for McCain, I hope you've put all your millions in gold, or else you'll be lining up outside soup kitchens along with the rest of us plebs.
Holy crap. Class dismissed?
What a cock.
Um, @1, the book is not by Obama, the sales of this book are going to help his income any, though getting "Obama" and "book" in the news might help sales of Obamas own books a little, but I would't think a whole lot.
From the AP article: "Chelsea Green Publishing, a small, liberal publisher based in Vermont, is releasing Robert Kuttner's 'Obama's Challenge,'"
"a call for Obama to enact a bold, progressive economic agenda"
Since when are monopolies "progressive"?
And why is a "liberal publisher" doing this? I suspect that connecting Obama's name with this practice it is at least as bad as the publication of "Obama Nation" which, while a best seller, is probably only preaching to the choir.
