Movie Night at Havana: The Warriors: An Update

posted by on August 26 at 19:45 PM

Turns out The Warriors really wanted to go on tonight, but electronics and rain don’t mix, and the weather people are always fucking up (Case & Point: Tonight). As such, the gang are gonna hide out tonight, and they’ll come out whenever they feel like it.

I always thought the phrase was "case in point."

When I do a google search for "case in point" I get 5,850,000 hits. But when I google "case and point" I get 435,000; and the top matches are articles considering whether the phrase is "in" or "and" and deciding that it is "in."

However, there is not yet an article on wikipedia titled "Case in point."

I'm going to bed. I really hope that by tomorrow morning some english major has an article worked up.

Irregardless of & vs. in (case/point), this is a colloquialism and not a title...why the hell are they capitalized? Who are you? Why do you suck?

Case & Point is the law firm representing the International Conspiracy of Weatherpersons. For more information, google "eggcorn."

The weather people I read are always right, and they were right about the rain last night. Get better sources or educate yourself about how weather works before you shoot your mouth off.

case in point: a relevant illustrative example (thefreedictionary.com).

Sorry to pick on you, but this (like "do to" in your previous post), is a perfect example of picking up a colloquialism by ear, and getting it wrong.

I'd like to jump on that bandwagon: you are an idiot for writing "Case & Point" and you should never write on the Slog again!!! The superfluous capitalization only makes it worse.

Other then that...
