"blistering the proposal" - I know what they mean, but . . . huh?

So, by these standards - given that the vast majority of male ejaculate produced never reaches an egg to fertilize - wouldn't masturbation and oral sex also count as abortion?

Men, you can now perform your own abortions in the privacy of your own bathroom. Thank you, Bushies for bringing equality to us all.

This is ironic because guess who helped set up Planned Parenthood in Connecticut back in the seventies? George H.W. and Barbara Bush, according to Kitty Kelly's book 'The Family' on the Bush family.

@2- They're talking about medication that prevents an already fertilized egg from implantation, like the pill and IUDs do. So the loss of eggs or sperm which haven't met wouldn't be of concern.

What we really need is a fringe-left group to start advocating mandatory abortions.

I wonder where my pro-choice Uncle Ted stands on this?

Too bad he is indicted...

if i'm to take the internet at its word, the only women who are seriously considering voting for mccain are either A) post-menopausal harpies with a serious axe to grind, or B) anti-choice malkinoids. i'm pretty sure the women who truly care about their reproductive freedom already got this memo.

The sheer fact that there is even a close race between McCain and Obama is mind-boggling. I wonder if the news media was so shitty back in the day who we would have had as president.

*groan*

Kyleen @ 4- Yer right, of course. However, I think my projection might be an eventual goal for the Abstinence Only Squad - policing "unused" emissions.

An uber-conservative's proverbial "wet dream" - so to speak.

Every time I read about this I am filled with so much anger I am rendered speechless.

All female demographics, including old white menopausal harpy Hillary fans, are much stronger majorities for Obama than any age group of white men including the youngs. If he loses, it will be THE FAULT OF WHITE MEN.

Too bad that interferes with replaying your misogynist Mommy-obsessed psychodramas. Get over it.

Speechless is right - what can you say to something as idiotic as this?

We won't support spine-less NO-Bama and will re-defeat him in November!!!

A duck walks into a bar. It sees John McCain sitting at the bar, takes the stool next to him, and orders a drink.

McCain says "Don't see many ducks in here."

The bartender says to McCain: "You getting dementia or something buddy? There ain't no ducks here."

Meh... it's all scary talk and no action with them. They've been trying to overturn roe v. wade since it was first ruled and have accomplished nothing. I know you're never supposed to say "it'll never happen" but... it'll never happen.

Greg @5; "What we really need is a fringe-left group to start advocating mandatory abortions."

Or maybe not, "One child per couple" would do a lot more to reduce humans impact on the Earth than a fee on plastic bags.

ALL politicians hate freedoms.

Dan, I don't see what you are so upset about. They only hate women and heterosexual sex. Both sides of your relationship are free to pop as much Viagra as will fit into your mouths. At the same time, they know that lesbians are not affected by all these rules.

Clearly they love gays and all that gay lovin' they do. Some of them more than others of course. Check the bathrooms around the legislatures to really sort out which are willing to love you the most.

Everyone that cares needs to go and get a copy of "The Handmaid"s Tale" by Margaret Atwood. Vote with your uterus, ladies!
