Lunchtime Quickie

How come they get Pānico

… and we get America’s Next Top Model, Smallville, One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, and an endless supply of NOT-funny-nor-was-it-ever Seinfeld re-runs. It’s not f*cking fair.

For someone out there, that was the perfect porn.

I don't know if it's art, but I like it.

Finally, quality television.

What's wrong with Veronica Mars? She's in highschool (later college) but she's also a detective!

Just watch the shows on CBC (channel 99) instead.

They're way more funny.

But I liked the first few seasons of Veronica Mars, although seeing Life on Mars (BBC) replaced that for me at some point.

Did you actually WATCH Veronica Mars when it was on the air, or are you just using it as a typical crappy teen drama example? I'm just wondering, because it was actually an incredibly well-written show.

Or maybe I'm just missing sarcasm because I'm tired...

And I really like the word "actually," it would seem.

Tried. Maybe I shoulda tried harder? All the CW shows bore me to tears. Boring, boring, boring...

Kelly O Has definitely not seen Veronica Mars, but she's obviously in the vast majority, or else I'd still be watching it right now. Goddammit it.

@9 - I just laughed WAY harder than I should have at "Goddammit it." But like I said in my post, I'm pretty tired.

Yeah, uh. Seinfeld wasn't funny. That's why they've been re-running it for years.

Seinfeld was definitely funny. weak sauce.

I found that weirdly reassuring. It is not just America that goes for crap on TV, it seems to be a part of the human condition.

Imagine the ratings if one of those girls started peeing her bikini and hit one of the little guys. How is that no TV exec has the cahonnes to run something like this now that the Janet Jackson fine is zero and the Christ army is leaving the White House. Porn stars with speaking parts (see I Love Money on VH1) is more offensive than this, can we get some real titilation?

Apparently the only people who actually liked that flaming turd known as Veronica Mars are ALL living in Seattle. Also noteworthy @ 12, they have been replaying Antiques Roadshow for years and I don't think that it is funny in the slightest. I think I did see the careers of all of the actors of Seinfeld on the Roadshow, sentimental value counts for something I suppose.

@17 - I guess you didn't read #6. Last time I checked, I'm not from Seattle but I love me some Veronica Mars. If you think that show was a "flaming turd," I'd be interested in knowing what you consider good TV.

@18: Two and A Half Men is what they define quality television as, I'm assuming. Fuck the masses, I love me some Veronica.
