Oh, I dunno, #1, I took it as "as a straight man, I don't really get how this is supposed to work" sort of thing. I mean, if you look at Mr. "Impeccable Taste", he made a nice woman's dress--but it wasn't a drag queen's dress. Joe had to be guided (by Miss Varla, I do believe) into taking it over the top and making it drag-queeny. And hiding the "candy". So I thought it was pretty cool that he won.

the show seems intent on purging itself of the hipster designers in the early rounds. it's nice to hear that Short Shorts and Impeccable Taste got something out of their time together in sewing camp.

Nora: I totally agree, he got good guidance. But every week has had at least a soupcon (usually more) of "AS A STRAIGHT MAN," which is probably why it's getting to me.

I'm proud of my straight-boy schlub Joe, beating off all the hapless, clueless queens. There's something hysterically funny about gay men who demonstrate such a zero understanding of drag. Both Keith and Daniel should have been aufed; Keith's was much worse, but the judges obviously felt that Daniel's "high end taste" baloney and his total inability to listen to them, to Tim, or to his clients meant that he had to go.

Keith's going next week. If he starts shredding fabric again I'm going to throw my TV into the street.

Best challange EVER!! I've been waiting for this since last season when they did the female wrestlers and Chris March said he wished they were doing drag queens. I couldn't believe thefolks who were so not getting drag. And Varla looked amazing. The only thing that would have made it better is a live-slog!

@9 IMM: Feel free to make use of every hole Keith has available, just please ensure that when you are done with him he no longer has the ability to thread a sewing machine.

The main reason that Joe and Terri proved most successful (I was rooting for Terri and Acid Betty myself) was that they listened to and worked with their clients without sacrificing the ideas they were bringing to the garments as designers.

Let's don't forget Koto also did great dress. Terry and Koto are my favorites so far.

Keith just needs to stand there and look pretty. The more I get to know him the more he bugs me.

Keith is hot, but the ego drives me bat-shit crazy... that and the fucking rat-tail. I really hope someone shaves it off in his sleep.

On a related note, on Tuesday night I saw Blaine sulking at the Madison Pub (so I naturally assumed he'd be Auf'd this week)

Terri's samurai drag outfit knocked it clear out of the park for me. One thing that may have worked against her is that Acid Betty is a newer breed of queen than many of the other models this week.

I'll also add that it was refreshing to see professional performers rocking the walk and putting the extra oomph behind those looks. The regular models on the show would do well to take notes...
