Why does the bottom sign have the Chinese character for middle/inside (中) all over it?
(Does it have something to do with why they can't write English?)
I like that church in Wallingford, on 40th, I think. Although their signs are intentionally funny. My favorite was: How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?
kesh @2, I ride by that church every day on my way to work. I'll have to start paying attention to the sign.
@1, those are crosses!! i'd be so good at pictionary: dumbass edition.
@4 Pretty much every Pictionary game I've played is the dumbass edition...
girlgerms @4, nobody would ever draw a cross like that. I think you're making assumptions just because it's a church sign.
They're obviously Chinese characters. I just can't think of any way that that makes sense.
There's a church on Queen Anne that, one Christmas season, had a sign that said something like "Come join the celebration! There's a Glory Hole in the Roof!" It didn't stay up long.
Some of the church signs in Eastern Washington scared the hell out of my son when he and I drove to BC - they really should have warning labels when entering some of those Fear-based towns ...
The Seventh Day Adventist Church on Aloha and 13th always has "clever" signage (example: "Best vitamin for Christians? B 1.") Only a block away is the Intersection of Very Bad Things (14th and Aloha.)
Coincidence?
In Everett there is a church called "New Hope." Something like star wars episode 3 "A New Hope"
The church at 75th & Roosevelt currently has the creepy message "The fear of the Lord is the beginnig [sic] of knowledge." They're not scared enough!
Mike, that's from the Psalms. But not really appropriate for a church sign trying to draw others in....btw, if you like this stuff, you should really check out "Crummy Church Signs," which posts these funny things daily.
