I can't wait for this story to stop getting more horrifying.

"Please kill me?" Really? If this guy wanted to be put to death for this, he sure picked the wrong place to do it.

Next time, try Texas.

He was re-enacting that Pretenders song? But why?

The bus passengers had been watching a movie en route. It may be another case of films inspiring real life violence. That's what you get when you show "The Bloody Murders, Dismemberments and Cannibalism of Zorro".

As if it could get any more fucking sordid, the guy he killed was a juggalo.

The most horrifying part will come when he gets out of jail coz he is mentally ill. I think Greyhound will go bankrupt, as people will be scared shitless.

Desperate, sad single men everywhere will be even more horrified to find out this man has a wife!

Doh! I'm told that Pretenders song was "Brass in Pocket." They never recorded anything called "Mouth, Nose and Ear in Pocket." Thank goodness. My bad.

Um, was he really a "carnival worker", or has the SMH journalist confused a Juggalo with a juggler?

@11 - Yes he was a carnival worker. I live in Edmonton, the city from which the bus left. Capital Ex, our big two week summer carnival event, had just ended a few days before this happened. It's said that the victim was on his way home, so my guess is that he was in the city working the Ex.

Don't know about other places, but in Canada, if you are unfit to stand trial due to mental defect, you are held in a secure facility for treatment until you *are* fit (if ever).

Then you are tried. If convicted, you go to jail.

Maybe he was making hot dogs.

I think it's really sad that some people find this humourous. Perhaps the people who sent those tasteless posts to the wall on the FB memorial page for him also thought it was clever to make jokes.

Yes, this was horrific and sensational, and there is huge media coverage because it's just such an outrageous story.

But let's not forget that a young man, a person, someone's son, someone's brother, someone's uncle, someone's friend has lost his life, lost it in a brutal, terrifying act of senseless violence. This is not funny to his friends and family, and it shouldn't be to anyone who has heard this story. This is not a "we'll-look-back-on-this-someday-and-laugh" event. I can't imagine what his last moments were like, and I can't imagine what his loved ones must be feeling right now.

Let's show a little respect.

I hope they let him contact the Chinese consulate ASAP, lest there be another tragic injustice done.
